Description

This manga was the original Holy Harem War and the one thay start it all
I thing I like about this manga is its realistic ending, the process of how the protagonist end up with
Another good point in this series is that it didn't just focus/develop the romance story of the characters one important development is the protagonist dreams and aspirations. Which was beautifully and slowly developed with ups and downs.
Lastly, the ending was really really good!
Long post, but necessary to express my admiration to this series.

Nishino
was slowly fed in the chapters of the manga. In both me first reading and second reading, it was clear that the protagonist was confused about his feelings at first, but the last volume Spoiler (mouse over to view)
and some dates with Nishino
shows that he was clearly emotionally invested to her than the others. The development of the characters except for satsuki were slowly integrated in the story because that's just how it is as a teenager would do. Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Personally how I see it is that, Manaka's feelings for Aya was at first deeper than any other character, but as the story progress Nishino with her maturity and development in chasing her dream, plus the fact that she is willing to be by Manaka's side in time of need, and is open to her feelings, most of all understanding Manaka's weakness and sentiments and choosing to forgive him for his transgressions. All balanced and is not in a Satsuki type of suffocating display of affection, makes her the realistic choice.

the strongest and most impactful line for me in the whole series was when Aya confessed through the club room door and Manaka deep in thought realized by himself that he would rather see Nishino smile again than chase after Aya to make her tears stop. (Come on, if that's not love for you I don't know what else is lol)

Manaka's dream of creating a movie with Aya was not yet reach but he is still striving hard to complete such, ending in a good point where he's already under a good director just waiting for the right time to direct

from the last date till the airport scene it was heartbreaking, but the "don't look back" and the promise to go back together after reaching thier separate dreams just makes my heart and mind sooo happy (one word guys, priorities, dreams before anything) the ending brings out the hopeless romantic inside me, that in the end someone will understand and will sacrifice his/her time to progress as individual but in the end they still know where their hearts belong.

Ichigo 100% is quite possibly the most irritating and disappointing manga I have ever read. The fact that I've chosen it as the subject of my first review here should give credibility to that statement.
Anyway, I will keep this short, because, quite frankly, I feel like this manga isn't worth any more of my time.
It is basically 167 chapters of little to no plot development, thanks to the protagonist's complete inability to speak his mind or take action. For every step forward, he takes one back, effectively never making any progress in any direction.
To make things even worse, one of the female main characters is more or less the same way he is. Rather than actually communicate with each other, they decide to stay silent and overanalyze everything that happens without ever making sure of what the truth actually is.
It is beyond me how Ichigo 100% can have such a high rating. It is mediocre at best, and I now wish that I could have spent the time wasted on it on something more worthwhile.

Previous commentators have noted a lot of the flaws in this manga - Manaka is aggravatingly indecisive and his bumbling behavior, where the majority of his encounters with women involve his freaking out somehow and knocking them over for the obligatory panty shot, feel a bit cringy after a while. He's somewhere in the middle among harem male leads in that he's not particularly 'harem-worthy' (as in he doesn't really do anything that makes you say "yes, in real life this guy could actually make multiple girls interested in him at once", but he's not a total wet blanket or someone who seems annoyed by the attention (usually the worst kind if not treated right). He's not especially helpful or considerate but I guess his passion for films is kind of endearing.
That being said, the ending broke my expectations and that's why I gave it a better-than-average rating.

Until the last few chapters, I was 100% sure that he would end up with Toujou Aya. In typical harem manga you often know early on who is going to win, if it's not a harem ending. Everything, especially Nishino Tsukasa going to France, indicated that the two would be left to finally be together. She seems at first like an obvious 'hidden gem' character - one who ends up stealing the show from the original love interest. Yet Tsukasa turns out to be that girl and I suppose it makes sense because of course, Aya was really the original and their encounter was an accident. It's certainly a much more surprising, last-minute twist than Nisekoi's.
That being said I can't say I'm totally happy with the ending or plot. There's a lot of angst in the story and I suppose I like the realistic ending - not everyone ends up immediately with their high school sweetheart and Manaka seems to come into his own, independent of Toujou and her scripts, and she does the same independent of him. Yet I don't really feel satisfied with the way that he reunited with Tsukasa five years later without pursuing his obvious chemistry with Toujou at all. Given the build-up, the abruptness of the break between him and Toujou feels poorly planned, as does the reunion with Tsukasa when every indication was that they were through. In the end they all are following their own dreams without relying on or holding people down, but that kind of ruins the whole network of support and friendship build up in the story. Toujou's self-doubt and stress over her writing never really ends up addressed. I suppose her giving him the notebook signals that she's trying to write for her own sake, rather than for his eyes, but I never really felt that his and Tsukasa's relationship had the same kind of mutual support and maybe that is why his ending up with her felt less 'right' to me.
Also I can't help but feel bad for Satsuki and Amachi. They might not be complex characters but I was sure that they would have some kind of happier ending, maybe with one another. Satsuki's constant, desperate attempts to get Manaka's attention when he constantly forced himself to ignore her were one of the more uncomfortable parts of the story. Underneath the ecchi there's a girl constantly feeling the pain of rejection and taking it out on herself.
Part of me wanted a harem ending, or at least a feel-good, "good friends/collaborators" ending with Toujou, but I'm not going to begrudge the ending when it took risks while still fitting in, in hindsight, with the development of the plot.

i remeber finishing this manga years ago back in 2008 but started it in 2006 - 2007..... well lets say i was getting the feeling the character i was cheering was not going to be the one with the happy ending..... so after reading the first 78 ( wasnt completly stanslated during that tme) i stop and waited for it to be complete scanlated.
Unlike you i couldnt bear with to so i skip to the ending ( 10 chapter before the ending) to confirm my intuition..... and i was correct......im happy i didnt bother going with the manga... its not like i hated the other characters, i just had my reason to like one of them from since the begining
anyway came back to finish this manga which i never wanted to do....ofcourse to get the feels back started from the beginning....sigh i shouldnt have completed it again the result knowiing the full story was still the same as i felt when i skip to the end
Its good manga still for those of yall that like these kind of stories.... I guess for some of yall this might be old school and so i cant so much about that since im also part of that generation way back in the 90s but i still think old school manga has a more attaching story compare to the new ones. this manga you wont hate it

In all honesty, I could say that this is one of the best manga of the genre (ecchi romantic comedy) that I've ever read. There is a refreshing pace to the story, tracking the developments of each of the characters as they live on their high school lives and a surprising amount of depth to the characters in the story. Although there are points at which the indecisive incompetence of the main character blessed with the good fortune of four amazing lead female characters becomes irritating, there is a level of dynamic change to the male protagonist as well (e.g. developing his desire for a future, changes in his perception toward relations of the opposite sex, overall growth and maturity regarding life). The female characters are also pretty fleshed out (there is a level of superficiality to their development, but it's to a degree where it's acceptable given I believe that not all humans have a certain level of depth anyway).
Overall, it's a compelling bildungsroman of an average high school student (barring the gratuitously ecchi-filled moments of comical relief) as he navigates through life with his relationships with the four heroines serving as symbolic reflections of the circumstances in life. Personally, I may be a little biased toward this work, as it was one of my firsts of this genre, but even after 4 different readings in different periods of my life, I can claim that it still preserves its initial luster and heart-pounding representation of youth that hooked me onto it in the first place.

Seriously, I rarely like a harem manga. Too much ecchi, cheesy romance, and drama for my taste, not to mention clueless and stupid male protagonists and over-the-top female leads. Even though Ichigo 100% definately has these elements( I was going to drop 4 volumes in...) I'm glad I stuck to it. The girl he chose at the end totally made me forgive the series for its flaws. In fact, what was going for between these two made it one of the most inspirational romances ever, which is extremely rare for a harem series. Props to the mangaka on this work.

I gave it rating of 10 because I'm nice like that, it doesn't represent anything.
So what I liked about this manga?
Firstly, Ecchi scenes! They where more or less done well, they created a nice feeling of anticipation while staying innocent at the same time.
The art, I didn't really pay much attention to it, so it doesn't distract from story, that I think is a good thing. I liked some facial expressions at times, but other than that nothing more to say.
There could be some more minor characters involvement, since the world created by author seemed a bit empty and... well, even dead at times.
The girl trio had a lot of potential, since you get two who are polar opposites and one who's something of a middle ground, but it wasn't used almost at all, since romantic plot was moved by tripping and falling on each other revealing panties.
Oh and something else to complain about, after 167 chapters, I was expecting to know characters a bit better and become more intimate with them.
Overall liked it. Was a bit hard to finish in one go though.

I exaggerated nearly two years ago when I praised this particular manga. It truly fits in the harem category, however, there are just too many unrealistic issues and predicaments, which become utterly ridiculous at times. Despite its numerous flaws, it remains to be a decent read for a teen audience.

it's been 6 or 7 years since i finished reading this manga.
several years ago when i first finished it... i didn't feel this bad...
but now recently when i re-read it again....I feel so devastated after reading those last chapters.
i didn't cry, but i couldn't sleep well because of it. i feel so depressed. i feel so f***ed up.
it's beautiful but painful to remember.
it's like planting a lovely flower but also damaging the soil at the same time. it leaves a scar in my memory.
my logic tells me that i have to forget it...it's only a fiction...it's not real, dude..
but my imagination makes the whole stories and characters feel so real. (i'm an artist, so i tend to use imagination rather than logic LOL)
and so i'm trapped between reality and fictional world.
well, this is an almost perfect manga. i give it 9.0
the art is nice, and the story makes me feel so connected with the characters.
i grew up with this manga, so it feels like the story is part of my memories.
it's beautiful, but beware...it can be heart stabbing for some people... even for action comic lover like me.
it'd be even more awesome if the mangaka makes alternative endings for each girls. then all the brokenhearted readers can feel a lot better.
i hope this post doesn't make me look like a melancholic person LOL...
i heard this manga has been reprinted this year in japan with new cover arts.

my chest hurt when i saw the chapter when aya confess her feeling to junpei from behind the door and then it revealed that junpei and aya have the same numbers from the fortune-teller at the school fest. but sadly, none of them know it.
and also the scene in the snow when junpei finally realized that he and aya actually love each other.
i feel so devastated when i saw aya cries after that.
