Really funny manga, what i really like is despite some parts being fictional, there is usually an afterword from the authors explaining how their military training was. So the manga beautifies the training (like how manga does with dark subjects) but the afterword helps put it plain and simple, telling the reader that even though the manga shows it in this light, the reality of the situation at that time was such and such.
This manga could also be interpreted as marine propaganda(i dont know if this would be the appropriate word to use, but it is the closest to what im trying to convey) by some people, even though it does illustrrate the negatives of the trainingz by the end of each chapter, it still illustrates that the marines seem to be a fun place, as the people you meet and such. When i read this, i even asked myself do i have what it takes to be a marine, it seems fun despite the flaws that the manga shows. However, because i thought about it, thta just shows how good this manga is at persuading you that the marines is not as bad as what people would believe, and it can be fun.
Regardless, if you look past the marine propganda stuff (dont know if this is the right choice of words), the manga was really fun to read, even if you dislike the marines or just hate the military in general, you should still give this manga a shot, as you would find yourself cracking up by the funny situations that the main characters end up in and their interactions with everyone.
i just wished it was fully translated
