It’s pretty standard in Yaoi for rape to be treated as nothing or ignored, but they didn’t do that in this manga. That makes the ending even worse, in my opinion. When you seem to be treating serious subject material in a realistic and (comparably) conscientious manner and then you do a complete 180 the result is disturbing. The lack of meaningful character development or plot-points makes it a complete waste of time.
Even with the sequel, I can't recommend it

First off, the art is plain ugly. I don't know what's wrong with the mangaka and her editors, and how could this art even pass, but on almost every page there was a face with un-aligned eyes, squinting in opposite directions, it's sooo disturbing! Not to mention the side views of characters, all the profile drawings are terrible, everyone looks like a goddamned neanderthalian caveman, it's awfully ugly. It's not an 'art-style', it's just bad anatomy and bugs me to oblivion.
Secondly, the characters were plain. Too plain. 'I don't even care about what happens to them'-kinda plain. Sensei had the personality of a potato, you can't know pretty much anything about him, throughout the whole 3 volumes, other than that he likes stargazing and is in love with his old classmate. Arioka was a tad bit more interesting, but the
And what about their love story? Sooooo unrealistic, even by yaoi manga standards... I hate stories, where deep love just happens in an instant, because I don't think something like love at first sight happens, but even if it does, and Arioka really could fall in love with sensei with literally a gaze only at his part-time job, I just can't believe sensei felt any romantic feelings towards Arioka in the end of Vol.3. Why? How?
All in all, I don't recommend this series, unless you ran out of yaoi and need a quick fix, but even then you should be probably off to read some PWP...

1. Arioka was his rapist! And by rape, I mean real rape, with blood and pain, not just a typical dub-con yaoi trope, not at all!
2. Sensei supposed to be madly in love with his best friend. You can't forget 10 years of unrequited love in 1-2 months, trust me, been there, done that, and that misery aint gonna disappear like that.

That was one hell of a terrible manga.
Don't get me wrong, it has beautiful art, quite interesting storyline (though it's typical, it's nicely done at the beginning) and variety of characters but then there's
and then it just ends. Without explanation, closing plot or anything at all. At the end of chapter 4, we even have "to be continued"... but we never get the end. First two chapters were really nice, after that the author done something that for me was unnecessary and simply terrible, and then chapter 4 finished with the story completely unresolved. I don't know but for me, it looked like it was supposed to be a much longer manga, with the number of characters and their started backstories... but in the end, we learned absolutely nothing.
She didn't explain anything, just left as if it was a cliffhanger. It's not even an open ending, it's simply lack of any type of ending. I really like teacher-student mangas but honestly, leave this one out. It will just piss you of.

Frankly, after the rape I wanted him to just apologize and disappear from Sensei's world. I wanted him to grow up and understand what he had done and just find someone else. And it even looked like the author also wanted to make something original and end it with them not getting together, since no one normal would ever get together with their rapist, but then there was no real end.
