Really quite good. The rare 'love-at-first-sight' GL story

Reviewed @end (ch80 season 2, seems there were plans for a season 3 that never happened, but end was fine as is)

This is very very slice of life. In that at times it feels like the story could've ended at any point and still be mostly satisfying. Because we're really just following the lives of our two leads, rahter than long story arcs. Which is why i'm not too bothered by there being no season 3, there could've been a season 4 and 5 and 6 just following these two and not causing a drop in quality. I'm not sure if I'm being clear here, I should come back and edit htis later. But my point is, though not episodic, this series pulled off slice of life in such a way that despite the author's plan for more seasons, you'll be left satisfied. (except for the "I want mooooorrree" feeling that you're always left with after a good series with good characters)

That's a great thing about this series: The characters. Straight away our two leads are quite appealing, and so are a couple side-characters (well, the ex is kinda a caricature, but then, we all know people like him do exist). I was a little worried about Alyssa's storyline (Jae-Hee in the original Korean. Yes this series has localised name for some reason, ew) but that turned out really well, too. Every core character feels mature in their own way by the end, even if they're damaged.

It's also nice to read a 'love at first sight' story. I feel like the aren't that common, nowadays. Or we're left wondering if the other reciprocates and then find out they do. Whereas in this one we see a lot of them being affectionate and mostly healthy. [I do NOT mean this is all 100% fluff. They both have dark pasts, as does another character, and the first arc is kinda dark, too]

ONE BIG PROBLEM: The translation. At different times in BOTH the official english translation and the fan translation the translation doesn't really make sense. Thankfully it's at different moments of dialogue, so whenever I was confused with one, I just switched over to the other and was able to understand what they were talking about.
But it sucks that even the official translation can be an unclear grammatical mess at times. So I very much counsel you to open both translations up in separate tabs so you can switch over if need be.

A good, if kinda messy lesbian romance

I have a soft spot for this story. I love the characters, they're hilarious and the main pair have great chemistry (pumpkin is bae) and it deals with abuse and relationships well. The plot is kinda messy though, there's sudden flashbacks and topics introduced that just make me go "oh, okay, guess we're doing this now." I do appreciate that it doesn't fetishize being gay and they just be people, imperfections and all. I never felt like a character was terribly written either.

It gets *pretty* dark. Domestic abuse (not between the main characters). Child abuse. Really depressing child hood in general. I think it just hit too close to home for me. The main couple is really cute tho. But I'd say the story is 30% wholesome/cute and 70% depressing and dark. But overall it *is* really well written, and the art is really nice. The art kind of reminds me of the manhwa Kill Switch.

This was my first yuri series I read and the art is amazing, as is the romance that blossoms between the two. There were some parts where I was confused what was happening (flashbacks), but generally good. And there was just enough graphics to make it cute and believable. Nothing too weird or extreme. Will likely always be my favorite series in this category other than Here U Are (yaoi but still). I wish they'd change the cover for the series though, because the actual art is far better and I almost didn't read it because the cover was so ugly. I'm glad I ended up reading it anyway. Go read it, you won't regret it. And Pumpkin is a cutie pie hehe

As yuri series go it's about standard, but the meta level is amazing - it's breaking all the standard rules with sharp, aggressive protagonists who aren't shy about keeping touchy subjects untouched. (like in most romance dramas)
