It's a really unpleasant feeling when you look at the comments saying "wasted potential" about the story you really like. Well whatever. It's a wonderful love story about two grown up men, a Sheriff and Native American. The story is complex, there's background, supporting characters, some mystery, action, then turning point, more action and lots of love in between. No matter how you look at it this manga is interesting. Characters are likeable and real-life-like. The idea to place the action on Wild West is nice an refreshing, how many manga about Wild west did you read? I bet that not many. On top of that the art is exquisite, it's slightly different from usual mangaka style, it's a little stylized to resemble an old American comic book more than Japanese manga. Everything here - including pacing and art - was thoughtful. I like this story a lot. I even reread it from time to time. The only "bad" thing here is length. Every time I pick a nice work I feel like it should be longer, so I could entertain myself some more. This manga is no different, I like it and I'd like to read more about Sheriff and Toto.
If you like yaoi with action, chibis and you don't need graphic sex on every single page you should read it.
(the last extra chapter was made of chibi characters, so cute)
@MirayAllen SPOILER
Fran isn't fighting, he's trying to atone for his sins and mistakes from the past by protecting town's people. At a certain moment he decided to sacrifice his life to save them. The moment he smashed his old gang members he became free, cause he atoned for past sins by killing them. It's like along with them he killed his old useless self. In a way he died in that clash, that's why he was able to start a new life, as a new man, with no obligation to fight anymore. His arm became paralysed but luckily he had Toto by his side, so it should be fine for both of them.
