I came here from the author's other works and I have to say, they're shaping up to be a favorite. They have a good slice of life tone, really getting to the heart of what makes that genre so good: the people. It's serious topics presenting in a heartfelt and realistic way. There's bitterness and anger, but it's laced with love and vulnerability and being able to acknowledge that the situation doesn't anger you as much as a fear of change/the disruption of the status quo does. Growing and adapting after heartbreak, apologizing for the hurt you caused but not for what you did, pulling those you love closer and not away. This manga really explores a lot of issues people have in life and subtly displays how it affects them. No screaming or shouting here, but plenty of emotion. It's conveyed well.

A great little bit of this is the friendship between the girls and seeing their separate conflicts and how they intersect. Glimpsing into the mind of their parents was also a treat (looove Mayuko's mom -- so cute and I think I relate to her most. Daiki's mom is also an interesting one, pretty endearing in her honesty and struggle. Aren't we all pretending to be nice and putting on a mask? Her being open about he insecurity is refreshing). The fangirl teacher is a whole vibe. A mood. Whatever the young kids are saying, she is IT. LMAO. I love it.

Mayu and Daiki....ahh, so cute. Daiki really is the cutest (Mayu, too! & there is nothing wrong with being a carnivore girl!!)

Being a chubby chaser myself I feel that this manga was written for me It seems to be a quality series. Can't tell many things from just one chapter. I wish I could read more than chapter

update: I got the original volume. The chapter translated by kimagure scans seems to be chapter 5 not 1 for some peculiar reason...
