Truly a long-con revenge tale that isn't silly or simple and doesn't revolve (at least entirely) around a man and certainly not around a love interest. In fact if anything I would say her revenge revolves more closely around Nelyson than it does Cledwyn, who played no part in her last life.
I love that Nerys is a talented, cunning, capable girl who grows into all of those traits as a woman, while at the same time having profound vulnerabilities, and that both her skills and her flaws arise because of her having reincarnated. The vulnerabilities aren't stupid weaknesses inserted for no reason; in all the ways you'd expect someone who has already lived once to be mature, Nerys is mature. Simple things don't fluster her—having already carried a life on her shoulders is where her memories and weaknesses show. So well done.
Cledwyn is a green flag, though his own personality and struggles are given enough screen time that he doesn't feel one-dimensional as a love interest. I will say my one bone to pick with his characterization is that I have no idea why this man trusts and adores Nerys like he does, or at least no idea what led him to do so at the start, other than that she seemed like an impetuous kid with a good brain in her head. I do love a devoted male lead falling in love first, so I'm not complaining, but the transition from him thinking of her as a potentially useful player in his collection of allies to considering her someone he would want to make his partner is not very well explored in the webtoon version, at least.
This story gets me in all my guilty pleasures and all my favorite tropes. I am so far thoroughly enjoying it, the process made even easier by the beautiful art and robust characters of all kinds. Everyone has motivations and beliefs that make sense for them. God bless.
