I got baited by the cool looking cover... But what I read wasn't cool at all... Rather lame... And unbearable. What a hell of a first impression: Cringe dialogues and unremarkably generic
To elaborate more on the dialogues and scenes, it felt more juvenile than American kid/tween shows that try to be edgy. It's like Danny Phantom/Ben 10 without the fun.
Everyone that appeared (until where I've stopped) can't stop themselves from yelling their special moves without any strategy and technicalities as if they are BPD individuals having an episode. They also can't speak normally but resort to yelling all the time. As a result, I couldn't feel any stakes at all even when the tension is apparently high probably because the yelling diluted everything. At a certain point, it became over the top without the funny and without conveying a dramatic intensity. It just felt like a caricature, so it became grating. Also in top of everyone has anger issues, they also can't hold themselves off from speaking out loud their inner monologue.
That's the type of crap I would expect from a low budget kid show, not a series with a cool cover.
Other observations :
Events are chaotic, but not in a fun way, but more in an ADHD way.
Spams a hoard of characters that just get go go go we all want the treasure. That's as much depth this has.
Couldn't force myself to read more than 3 chapters. And I usually can power through 10.
Settings-wise, it reminds me of Shin Angyo Onshi but dumbed down. As in with shittier fights, worse comedy, and more forgetful characters.
Idk whether it is original Korean or Chinese. But vine wise it follows closer to the usual Chinese stuffs. With all the lack of subtleties and the loud Chinese tourist-ish commonalities of yelling all the time.
The only reason I didn't give it a 1/10 was because the thumbnail looked cool.
