I found this to be pretty hilarious. I mean, wow. I love hellsing and although I haven't got to reading "drifters" yet, I am planning to soon, as soon as I finish re-reading hellsing. This guy is great at writing interesting stories, although he's got two issues... One is that he's got a bad working style and usually never finishes stuff properly, he's also fairly slow, maybe because he's not focusing on one manga. The other thing is that although I love his artstyle and writing style, he shouldn't write stuff like this manga, I mean, wow, the expressions and actions of the characters makes it seem as if they're in a war or something, his art style and writing style really does NOT fit into a story like this ? He should focus on stories with action that are kinda dark but with some nice comedy. Well, he usually does, at least nowadays.
Maybe it took a while for him to find what he's best at and only when writing hellsing and seeing its success did he realize? Seriously, this doujin themed manga just made me laugh a lot. It wasn't supposed to be that funny, but seeing all their faces, reactions and the way they talked/acted felt so damn out of place, it was hilarious. Like a bunch of people being extremely serious while trying to decide who gets the last piece of the food and acting as if your country's survival depends on you getting it ?Oh, but it's not something that would keep on being hilarious for that long, you'd get sick of the surrealistic overreaction type gag after a short while, that's why I feel like he shouldn't write this, at least not for more than a volume or two.
Oh, you want information about what it's about? Well, there's just 2 chapters translated, not much to say. It's about this guy who wants to be good at doujinshi or something and another guy who wants to make money along with gross overreactions that makes it seem as if writing some doujinshi is just as important as the battles in hellsing ? Just read it, 50 pages takes, what, several minutes to read? Might not be worth it if you're not already into this author's works though since it's hardly even enough to fit between the gap of your teeth.
