Description
The story follows the crazy misadventures of Kaizo Katsu, a former child prodigy turned weirdo after his female childhood friend, Umi, kicked him off a jungle gym in the playground, and he got a huge bump in the head. With this set up, Kaizo (believes he is a cyborg) and his classmates, Umi (will go revealing her dark side with every chapter), Suzu, and Chitan (an inferior being?), will treat in every chapter a different topic of life with the hilarious and interesting way of thinking of the author Kumeta. The attacks of different geniuses/weirdos will create a lot of funny situations.

I picked this up thinking that since it was by the same author as Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, it would have the same kind of style. Whilst it still had the strange rants that made that series so great, it's style was still very different.
There's a lot of gross-out body humour, but the thing that annoyed me about the series was most of the punchlines consist of one of the MC's friend's suffering. I found that punchline a little overused and it made me just feel sorry for the character rather than laughing.
Still... a good series as long as you're okay with the humour style, and don't make the mistake of binge-reading it or assuming it'll be like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Before being well known for Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, Kumeta created Katteni Kaizo, one of his few works for Shonen Sunday, and after reading this, I consider this to be the funniest manga I have ever read.
The drawing styles are quite simple, but does fit with the absurdity and surreal antics that occur, the characters, from the main casts to the weirdos they encounter, stands out and the plot is simply great.
Overall, if you you want to find something to give you good laugh, this is one manga I will recommend.

These are those gems that NEED to be scanlated! Why do we really need 6 different versions of say, Naruto, when great underdog series are left alone >< Mangascreeners! I beseech thee to pick up this series once again!
I've learned and laughed a lot with this

A very funny manga, with lots of interesting explanations and weird characters. I have read 20 volumes with spanish translation till now and I've enjoyed everyone of them.
The manga talks about lots of things of life and I'd said it's quite unique.
