None of the characters were annoying, and while the scene almost never changes, the mangaka still manages to tell a convincing romance story with other elements. The main character is kind of dense and oblivious, but she's fun, and she doesn't blush or cry a lot, which I always hate in a female lead.
I have to say, though, the one thing I really love about this manga is Ichirou. If he weren't a part of it, I'd probably have rated it a 6 instead of an 9. He's just so funny, with his random comments, and how he always falls asleep. Definitely worth reading if only for that one character.
I don't especially like the other male lead (he's too generic and not very funny) but I don't mind him. He helps round out the cast, but I do wish he weren't the person Uru is most likely going to end up with. If she were to end up with Ichirou, my rating would have probably gone up to a 12 (lol). Not that there isn't still a chance she could end up with Ichirou. But it's unlikely.
As for other characters, they are all pretty funny. I especially like the relationship between Uru and her mother (who doesn't act like a mother at all). And her step-dad is pretty great too. And her best friend. And the store's manager. And-well, basically the whole cast. They're just a bunch of hilarious weirdos. Who can resist reading about a bunch of hilarious weirdos?
Anyway, interesting characters, decent plot for a shoujo manga (not really going anywhere, but most shoujo mangas develop more in relationships than in plot lines), decent artwork. And the best character in the world (Ichirou). In short, you won't regret reading this.
