Description

There are a lot of things that Kouki doesn't have—no hobbies, no friends, no lover, no stable job, and no will to live. So when a random tussle with some kids gets him stabbed, he thinks maybe this is finally his ticket out of this crappy life. But just as he's about to pass out he sees a beautiful "angel"... How is Kouki supposed to cope when less than a month later, he's mysteriously healed, has astronomical bills to pay, and suddenly has the same beautiful angel as his amnesiac roommate?

It's not even so much the "twist" that hits, it's the inevitability and reminders that the world is cold when we need warmth & warm when we deserve the cold. A world of contrasts, missed connections, and "better later than never."

Their affection for each other felt pure - calling it a yaoi or BL feels trivial...there such a sincere, genuine love and understanding between them and that transcends above it all.

Beautifully told story, interesting character and plot development. There are some heavy themes but the vibe is heartwarming. It wraps up nicely but I'd call the ending more "bittersweet" than "happy." This is top tier.

And although it's listed as Shounen Ai, there's no romance or anything even close to it between the main characters. They definitely love each other, but it can easily be read as more of a pure platonic love. So if you're put off by the age gap, don't worry—it's not that kind of story. But it does have a Shounen Ai sheen to it (plus it's Harada, after all), so I see why it's labeled this way.

It took a lot for me to read this manga because Harada had burned me so hard before. Not that her stories are bad, but holy shit do they traumatize me. Finally read this and was treated to some good angst.

The story is a familiar one, but the execution was on point. This story shows how vital it is that we have each other. Humans are meant to love and feel warmth from that love. The love expressed in this story was pure in a way I haven't seen in a BL in a long time. Kouki's journey and transformation is so poignant and relatable, the ending is bittersweet but hopeful. This story reminds me that loss is just another part of love, and that forgiving one's own self is so hard but so important. Highly recommended.

just great. it wasn't at all what I expected to be, do yourself a favor a give it a read is not light weight but is not awful either. It has a lot of heart and is many ways a soothing, it was for me hope it is for you too.

Most decent work of Harada I've read so far

I've seen Harada's other mangas. I've always expected that if I see that author's name, some crazy out of the world shit is gonna happen but, she took an extreme care for this one.

As the other review mentioned, the concept isn't new, but the fact that this manga brought me to tears means, the story was beautifully delivered. It showcased two beings questioning their existence, one bound by regrets of the past, the other having only memories of the present. Their interactions gave warmth to their souls. Both created a synergy, as if what one lacks completes the other.

Despite being predictable, it was still written in a way that would crush your heart. It's a heavy drama you shouldn't miss out.

Beautiful in a melancholic sort of way

As expected of a Harada-sensei’s work, this gave me tears and shivers. We all need this kind of heavy shounen ai in our read list.

Maybe the concept isn’t new, but the execution and progression are exceptional. The story contains unexpected intriguing details that stirs up my feelings.

Their love is naturally sweet and warm, as it binds two people whose lives were miserable without affection.
The ending is predictable, but the last chapter and extra still hit me so hard.
Such a worth-reading and heart-warming one.
