In the beginning, Naoya's character rrally annoyed me... the 'love triangle' aspect was not good at all... but when it got past that, the story became much more tolerable, and tho it wasnt spectacular, i got to see nice old fuwa shinri art and it was kinda fluffy. Overall, it was a short read with some cute parts, and you could give it a try, without losing too much if you end up not liking it. I'm glad i read it myself tho.

Naoya is way too emotional for my taste. Who, in real life, cries THAT much? Like, damn... Get a grip, dude.
I couldn't get into the story as much as I'd have liked because of it; I just didn't find him as likeable as I wanted to. And Tsukasa's anger issues bothered me, too. And what's with everyone slamming Naoya to the ground like they're going to rape him? Blah. It's just a style of plot that doesn't click with me, I guess.
And I'm only on volume 1. I'll probably leave this as a DNF.

Cute and likable, but I definitely felt more for the rival than for the main love interest- Tamura was really sweet and caring, and I thought it was a pity Naoya didn't even consider his feelings. I did grow to like Tsukasa more as time went by, so that was good... but still, poor Tamura! I hated how Naoya was so inconsiderate of his feelings, pushing him away and acting like Tamura was the one in the wrong.
The art is old-fashioned, and not really my cup of tea, but it was alright after I got used to it- definitely not too bad. It worked really well with the funny faces, and was generally pleasant. Overall a pretty good story!

I love the illustration of the one character's long hair! Usually I marvel at her ability to draw curls, but she proves she can draw long and straight beautifully as well!
I liked--and felt for--all three of the main characters. They were all quite distinct and believable in their feelings. I'm eagerly looking forward to the release of the sequel from the English publisher! I'm sure many readers want to know the rest of the spurned man's story. And--thankfully--it was created by Fuwa-sensei!
The story and the art both never reach crescendo levels of inspiration or delight in myself, but it was a pleasant read. Each page was easy to read, and compelling to keep turning to the next page.
It lacked a little in 'omph' for the drama of moments presented and art style, but it did make me smile and the emotions were illustrated well. I liked the theme of different types of strengths and how other people's perspectives are often forgotten as we focus on our own.
And that bizarre avant-garde painting in the writer's room...i kept looking at it from every angle, trying to figure it out...

Surprisingly for a story with such deep feelings involved it is well developed and characters grow and change with the right speed and the right pace. It isn't rushed, it isn't superficial. I really enjoyed it.
It's a pity that the drawings were a bit disproportioned but it is a pretty old manga so it's understandable. The funny faces were hilarious.
The fact that you actually are led by the nose by the author (first hating Tsukasa and then really wishing for him to win) means it is a very well done story. However I do agree with elenaluz (a review in this page) who thinks that sending Tamura home was the easy way out.
Anyway, deeply recommended. Almost no sex scenes though, but it's good too since this story is all about emotions.

The art is great considering it was publish in the 90s. The story is perfect and really sweet. The 3rd party (Tamura) is also likable and of course the main characters. It was sad at few parts that made me shed tears a little and also some funny moments that cracks me up. If you're looking for a great story and less sex scenes then this is a must read for you and you won't be disappointed.
sweet one ^^

I liked this story; I thought the main characters worked well together. However, I also liked Tamura, and thought he and Naoya would have worked just as well. I wish Fuwa-sensei had not taken the easy way out, as so many mangaka do, and made the third wheel out to be the villain, but rather dealt with the heartache as it came.
