It was a happy ending in my opinion, with a cliffhanger. Main character comes forward and confesses about her actions, but the "Queen" goes overseas to study... but she returns in a university type of setting. We're asked, how is this fair (that she received no punishment)? But the takeaway here is to be honest and to do the right thing. We shouldn't focus on what others do... It's what you do that's important.
I had to pay $6 to view the series but I think it was worth it. A protagonist with realistic foibles. Also an antagonist that's more or less believable (same can be said for the themes and ending)
I've read other series in similar setting where the bullies are always deranged sociopaths that would have been institutionalized if the it were remotely believable. Those series were also done well but I can appreciate how down to earth this story was.
