Heart no Kakurega

Description

Volume 1: Izumi returns from a business trip to find his apartment ransacked to the bone. Practically penniless, he moves into the only shelter he can afford: a room in a battered multi-family complex. As if the less-than-livable conditions weren't bad enough, he has to put up with his new weird, rude and tactless neighbors - and one of them is Haruto, the superintendent.

Volume 2: Everyone in the complex has seen Momo and Jin in a compromising situation at least once or twice. But what exactly is the relationship between these two men?

Volume 3: The continuation and growth between Momo and Jin. Will these two finally be able to express their love for one another within the compound?

This was a thoroughly enjoyable manga series to follow. I love the fact that we've got a huge colourful cast full of distinct personalities, and the mangaka did great at utilising the diversity in their dynamics to drive the story forward in a most natural manner. I came to really like Izumi and Haruto as a couple, which is not what I expected to happen at first. They're so endearing and precious once you get to know more about them, and their love and care for one another is very sweet. Also I could just die for Natsume Isaku's chibi drawings, god damn! Too illegally cute and funny and adorable I can't stand it T^T

Seme focus: the kinda-unrequited-love edition

It is always a pleasure to see the seme struggles internally over the relationship, especially in the "I thought he likes me, but it turns out he does not" kinda way evil laugh. Haruto (the uke0 remains quirky and somewhat oblivious in the most part, which makes him adorable. It amuses me how his comments can turn Izumi (the seme) into stone sometimes.
As always, sensei's drawing style is really clean and makes the reading experience a breeze. Momo and Izumi may look alike in one or two shots, but I won't comlain b/c it hardly affects the flow of the story.

The characters are brilliant! This manga has such a good variety of different characters that you won't get bored of it. Every person has a story and it is so fascinating to get the chance to see their past in the manga. The first pairing was pretty cute, nothing special in my opinion tho. My favourite pairing was the second one with jin and momo because they were so fun to read about. Their personalities were so different and clashed together causing many fights, yet you could tell that they still deeply loved each other. Their storyline was so heart-warming, i wanted to cry. They support each other through everything and that scene where

Jin comforted momo when he was crying after his mother passed away really tugged at my heart-strings. ;w; They're so perfect together! <3 As always Natsume-sensei has an amazing art style and her works are beautiful. The intimate scenes with the couples gave me butterflies. Ahh reading this manga was like finding treasure. <3

As expected of Natsume Isaku, she has brought us again a very good series. Heart no Kakurega is a very refreshing story and definitely different from her other works. You can feel that the author is heading on a new direction and that she's trying new things. The characters are likable and there is comedy that make me love her from the first time i read her works. The art is of course good, though you will always see a resemblance of the faces of the characters in her other mangas.

Definitely recommended
