Kinda boring

The story dragged a lot for me. And honestly, given the subject matter I would have expected more intensity and more chemistry between the characters.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The heroine was the guy's tutor when she was 19 and he was 14. She loved him but refused to admit it because of it being immoral. He raped her and claimed he'd never had feelings for her anyway.

However, I will say that a lot of people in the reviews seem to be very judgemental and see things in black and white. People are saying there's "no way" she would love a guy who'd hurt her like that. What they're forgetting is that she loved him already before that happened. Speaking as an adult, things are rarely black and white like that.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I was raped once years ago by the guy I love. I still love him, and we're still together. He's never done it again after I made him understand how betrayed and violated I felt. He's my best friend and we've been in a relationship for almost 19 years. So it's not right to say that no one would ever still love their rapist, or stay together with them.

wouldve liked this so much more if it wasn't so Stockholm syndrome (minus captor) flimsy excuse for such violence. no one in their right mind would still have those kind of feelings. if only that wasnt there it would be alright.

This isn't the first time I read this and honestly I don't remember how I felt about this manga the first time around. I tried reading seriously but after reading halfway, I couldn't stand being patient and skimmed the rest. It wasn't a story that particularly moved me.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Ayane had her (few) strong moments like admitting that she was weird for falling in love with her rapist (women rarely admit to their stockholm syndrome)but otherwise she exuded too much passiveness for way too long. It's a total no brainer why she wasn't able to achieve as much as she originally hoped considering her passive personality. So much would have been avoided if she just ended things with her bf sooner but nope, she was much too focused on how she wanted to touch the boy to think about breaking things off with her bf officially. I get it, it didn't feel like she was dating him because she didn't love him and they didn't have any chemistry either but again, so much would have been avoided and this manga would have ended much sooner if she had.
It's rare to say a manga should have ended sooner for it's own good and I felt like this is just one of those. The beginning and middle was just moving way too slow.

Oh and towards the end...I just couldn't stand looking at Ayane's dopey looking face.

I Second Swtheartt's BORING

Despite all other pros or cons, I simply couldn't finish this. Why? Because it was BORING. That was my biggest complaint over any unbelievable characters or distressing plot mazes. The pacing was just clunk-clunk-clunk even with the uber-attempt at drama. I wasn't compelled by either of the main characters.

i have mixed feeling about it.. don't get me wrong, i really enjoy dark series, but it's more like it was trying to be dark and take on dark subject matter, but kinda failed? it just scraped the surface of everything. plus the characters bothered me a lot... it got better and a little straightened out for a while, but they just seemed like idiots to me, i couldn't feel any sort of sympathy whatsoever.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the whole thing about her loving him even after he forced her just... she didn't even TRY lol... i mean, it helped he felt bad and really guilty about it i guess? i liked the element that she loved him when he raped her, which could explain the feelings, but still.

seems like more of a shoujo/smut feel than josei to me, maybe i just had high expectations.. so basically, just go in reading it with no expectations and it might be good?

Yah, so it was pretty boring if you ask me... But I guess no one did since I'm writing all this on my own free will. But, anyway I stopped midway.. I just couldn't take it anymore. I understand heroines are usually ditzy or weak, well shoujo ones anyway but there's a limit. Art was alright, simple enough. Read for the smut if you want but have fun going through those boring, draggy pages.

The ones who disliked this are probably the ones who like those happy shoujo mangas or something... However, this one isn't all happy and is most likely more closer to what reality is like compared to those mangas the people want. What I'm saying is, most mangas there are completely unrealistic. Those are what the people want. But, this shows that some lifestories aren't like that. I found it quite good and to the one who said that it was typical and predictable, you probably only read the first chapter. ==" I found the first comment really true by the way.

The art was terrible, I thought. The story wasn't that great either. At times it felt really cheesy to me, and the rest just felt too forced. I guess I'm unfair though, because I couldn't even finish reading the whole thing.

WHAT THE HELL?! Awesome art, but SUCKY charcter personality. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD LOVE THEIR RAPIST? This manga is an insult to raped victims, SERIOUSLY!~ Every single single chapter has her thinking about the horrible, violent rape that happened to her and then at the end of the hateful memories she feels lust?!! and wanting him to touch her??! WAHHH?!

Honestly, I really don't know what to think of this manga. I guess only time will tell.

On one hand, the references to music are lovely and romantic, with a possessive edge to them. The art is also very beautiful. On the other hand, the relationship between the characters is really messed up.

Seriously,
Spoiler (highlight to view)
how on earth can you come to love your rapist? And an underaged one (at the time of the rape), at that?

But that aside, this manga is quite entertaining if you're not too bothered by the dark subject matter. The author is a gifted storyteller who has created conflicted and interesting main characters. I'll read on.
