In all honesty the only reason I rated this work 7 was due to the beautiful art style, otherwise the plot was a bit of a letdown. The plot is slightly bland and lacks substance, unfortunately. Despite this, it turned out to be an alright read, it was just a bit boring to get through. The first part of the story which is set in the 18th century is mind-numbingly bland and lack cohesive structure, in lay terms, things just sort of happen and you're forced to accept it. The whole basis of their great, time-spanning love is based upon a loose, flimsy plot line. If you're going to make a love story span across a great period of time, at least take time and patience to create a firm basis for that love.
Also, he feeds on roses for sustenance...really? Really?

the first story was good not amazing in my opinion but good. the second story i did not care for at all. over all i feel this series to be a let down, the authors story Let Dai was amazing and my hopes were too high for more of such work.
