The story follows Jun Kuwako, a first-year university student, has been seeing small "obake" (ghosts) since he was a child. They are attached to old things, are extremely cheerful and talkative... and seem to follow Jun even after he moves from the mountains to Tokyo for his studies! But at the university, Jun meets a group of students who are devoting themselves to the study of folklore...
