I love the world this story is set in, it would have been great to actually build it out more. The story seems to be set in a ABO type animal hybrid world but again not much is clarified. The story centers around a wolf, a snake and a rabbit.
Spoilers ahead:
There is enough of a story told where you get the basic understanding that the wolf is in love with a snake and has been for a very long time. The snake is also in love with a wolf, even though he’s had past relationships and several children.
The bunny is a rare species and apparently the wolf is supposed to only mate with rare species. The bunny is cruel and manipulative and knows that the snake is secretly a rare species as well. Towards the end of the story the wolf chooses the bunny even though he figures out the snake is a rare species and loves him.
There is a time jump in the last episode where we see:
-the wolf feed the bunny his eye as a show of love
-during the time skip the wolf and the bunny get married and have a baby
-the snake remains alone
-the wolf kinda apologizes for not choosing the snake and the snake basically is ok with them just being friends
-the wolf is keeping the fact that his bunny wife is alive a secret because it murdered so many people
-they were at a wedding but I’m not sure who’s it was😕 It seemed to be the wedding of one of the snakes children or grandchildren (he already had several kids in high school)
-the snake is very happy with his kids and grandkids and just accepts the reality for what it is - at least he finds happiness his own way
Anyway this has a bittersweet and confusing ending because there was a few chapters dedicated to how close the wolf and the snake are and how “torn” the wolf is in choosing. He won’t even let the snake date other people at one point. Then all of a sudden he decides that he’s going to choose the bunny anyway knowing that the snake is also a rare species and knowing that the bunny has been manipulating him. So the “choice” doesn’t really make sense.
The art is beautiful and I tried to get into this but regretted the effort in the end. Save your time and don’t read this one.
