This manga captures Ancient Egypt extremely well! I'm so pleased that there's a manga that focuses on the life of the amazing Hatshepsut, whom I've admired for many years.

Hatshepsut starts off headstrong and extremely set in her views, quite a childish aspect indeed. but with real-life experiences and the guidance of Senmout, she gradually matures into a capable leader and decision-maker. this is not unmet by obstacles from her half-brother the pharaoh, whom she despises but finds herself unable to fight against in her current position...

Inconsistency with history is to be expected but it's not to the point of turning me off the story, instead, it's captured every bit of my attention, and now I can only hope the scanlations will continue! or maybe it will be licensed in English.

One would be a fool to treat this as only a story, much of the manga is based on assumptions of what happened in the time period, as there were little historical records of that time period. Many things are up for debate as Hatshepsut was a more recently discovered Pharoah. It still gives a good picture of 15th century(18th dynasty Egypt)
