I personally feel quite moved that there is a mangaka who write about my country. Yes, there is two battle in Vietnam that was called with the same name, as stated in one of the previous comment before mine. Oh, also, another clarification, the battle of Điện Biên Phủ on air was at the northern areas of Vietnam. It was battle in around October, 1972, started with the attack of the US aircrafts, bombing the northern part of Vietnam, trying to destroy the northern part of Vietnam.
I am quite upset, though that the comments of some people are a bit too emotional. I do understand though that why they are so upset about the manga. This manga is a bit of an exaggeration, honestly. As far as my knowledge go, there is no Vietnamese young girl who was like that girl in the manga. Yes, there are quite a few young children who worked as spies for the government, and yes, there were women soldiers, who fought at the war, used martial art, self-defense, and weapons. However, there is no such girl who fight like a ninja, fly from a building, and cut people head with a knife at an inhumane speed like that.
Nonetheless, I am appreciate someone who actually try to write about the war of my country. But then, I would want the author to describe the war with a neutral eyes. I might not have the best neutral viewpoint, for I am Vietnamese, but from my various experiences and after learning my own country's history from other's perspective, I tried to write this with the little knowledge that I have.
p.s: Not to offend anyone. But I would really like it if people can try to write in a more polite manner using proper language. Even though I am quite dissatisfied about some part of this manga as well, I think that it's better to talk rationally and try to explain, rather than trying to express your anger through such kind of provocative language. It's not appreciated, not at the very least for using curses. Thank you.
