The areas explored by the author here are nicely done. A good short story that was well executed considering its intended length. Has no romance but the human psychology involved in the character development is obviously carefully thought-out.
Its a very touching yet so cute~ looove Nishikata-sensei's works >v< and looking forward reading more of her works! (Its my first one to read) Love the artwork as well besides its story. I can't believe its just so short XD
I'm not sure why ... or how I got it into my head that this is a romance ... which it's not. After relooking at the tags it doesn't say romance and even says 'Important Non-Romantic Relationship/s'. (I probably had the thought it was a romance because I just finished another work by this author that was a romance)
Putting aside that it wasn't what I was looking forward to reading after reading the description . It was cute, touching, and interesting enough, .... but not my cup of tea. The low rating of 4 is because I really could see it turning into something I would like (the romance theme) , but again it wasn't.
Overall - good story, just not for me.

Like that question she wanted to ask "why did you decide to take care of me/do you really love me as a father?" could have turned into 'could you ever love me as a women' or something. That whole I love you scene instead of I love you as a daughter/father could have just been I love you (like love love). OH, and the don't hug me thing could have been a don't hug me because my heart is beating too quickly or something along those lines.
To me it was screaming make me a romance, but it just never happened.Overall - good story, just not for me.

unexpectedly good for a oneshot especially story-wise. Art is clean and likeable. Story leaves you with a slice of life feeling which in my opinion for a manga of this gentre (unless it carries supernatural aspects) means success. while its only 25+ pages i can imagine mei and her father living their lives when i read the last page. i say read it if you like shoujo it wouldn't even take too much of your time
