WARNING: I kinda started ranting.... 😛
I hate how many people seem to like this on other websites I visited. The manga is not only repetitive, melodramatic, and misleading, but also cliche.
Many who like the manga all seemed to ignore the repeatedly used scenes of the girl, Tsubaki, getting overly sensitive/jealous of those who get near her boyfriend.
*There's a girl who smiles at him? OH NO I better make a huge fuss out of it. I will cry and shout and scream my head off because obviously my loving boyfriend doesn't love me anymore. The dude want s to think about his own future instead of having a date with me? I'm trashing the cakes I made for him. Oh, and better yet, I'm definitely not telling him just how hurt I am. I'm not explaining a freaking thing to try to keep our relationship smooth sailing. *
The main character is down right ridiculous to the point I want to slap her across the face with a flyswatter and feed her head to the sharks. Honestly, she is giving female readers my age the wrong message. She is making it seem like her ways of interacting with her boyfriend is totally normal, and is even a sign of true love.
That is utterly nonsensical. **** I can't believe I wasted so much time just to watch this girl throw tantrums...****
Real love does NOT have to be so painful and filled with suffering. A healthy relationship doesn't need the constant fights and doubts about one another. It isn't filled to the brim with burning jealousy all the time, and if someone is in such a situation, then I don't think the relationship is the right one for the person. Seriously. Tsubaki's reactions to things that happen to her can, at best, be described as childish. Even Twilight is better than this, kind of.
Tsubaki is willing to throw away her own future for some high school dude she cut the hair off of.... WHERE DOES HER BURNING LOVE EVEN COME FROM? Yet, when her bf is spotted talking to another girl with a gentle expression, Tsubaki is 120% sure they're going to break up... How does that even make sense?!
** She is totally consumed by her romance, and forgets about every other aspect of her life.** What about her future? Friends? Family?
Her love is just inspired by the fact that a popular guy made her more popular, when in reality she could've achieved the same without his help. After this, scenes roll and suddenly they are madly in love. Just what in the world?
I don't mind the fact that this is just the story of an insecure girl with popular boyfriend; but this series crafts each chapter in such a way that it is implied that her relationships are totally healthy. And that, my friends, means that there are real girls reading this manga who may end up believing that they, too, have to go through all this just to find "the one".....
LOL If that is what true love is supposed to be, then to hell with it.
