I usually don't leave reviews on this site but both written reviews here are negative and this really, really needs some defense. The art in this is beautiful & unique, and the story is narrated as a religious fable/short story. Both of these things are atypical for long strip comics- which is usually a more conventional, commercially focused format. I found it very touching and enjoyed it. It's a quick, impactful read.
This story could be better and bearable if it was a prologue to a longer and meaningful story. However, that is not the case here. The story seems like a dark fairy tale but poorly told and the protagonist or antagonist whichever his role is, acted as a cardbroad and being bad just for the edgy and teenager angst he is. The same can be said about the author. It is such a short and bland story but it drags on and on without further interesting things to tell. The author tried his best to appear deep and this story turned out to be such a pain in the ass to read. It is shallow with an asshole king who is evil just for the sake of being evil. Nothing makes sense or probably executed. Don't waste your time with this garbage of a story telling.
It was an average comic that was trying so hard to be philosophical. It's not and the read is long and meaningless. The author used shocking images and prolonged the story but all the characters felt forced and flat.
