amazing
the plot didn't really grip me but its so nice to see anatomically correct and visually pleasing art in manga.
I really enjoyed the premise and initial conflict of this manga, plus I REALLY enjoyed the character design of Kuroi-kun. He's so unbelievably hot and the fact that he's a yakuza leader too is just slkdjaskldjalkdjsaldkjalksdjals
I feel like this mangaka is much more suited for writing down to earth stories with more humorous and slice-of-life elements. The drama and later conflicts in this manga felt shallow and forced, like the manga was going through the motions in order to write a proper yakuza manga. If the manga instead focused on something much more mundane like Kuroi-kun trying to keep his crush under wraps while the enigmatic Shirakaba teased him every time he visited the office, I feel like this would have felt more authentic and organic for this mangaka. She could even have kept that super corny joke at the end too! (I lol'd pretty good at that)
As is, the conflict falls apart at the end and just concludes abruptly, throwing any tension out the window with it. I honestly really wanted more of that gap moe yakuza boss that I saw in the Busamen manga xD
edit: wow a second volume! I really enjoyed the much more lighthearted tone in this volume compared to the forced drama in the first volume. Tokiya was an interesting character and it didn't matter that we all knew that he posed no threat from the start. We just got to see some yakuza antics, Handa being a loveable idiot, and FUCK ME Kengou's gap moe is going to give me heart problems.
The art included in the extras are also super fucking hot. KENGOU WHY ARE YOU SO UNBELIEVABLY HOT?!
