Noooow...
This is a story all about how
Aharoos life got flip turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
just sit right there
and ill tell you all about how he gets a harem of hot slaves in his care
Capital of Daroon, born and raised
In the slave auction is where he spends most of his days
Following rich kids, maxin', relaxin, all cool,
And buying some sex slaves right after school
When a stereotypical annoying noble who was up to no good
started sexually assaulting slaves in the neighborhood
One little fight and the noble's thugs ran
And thus Arahoos harem began
OK. That may have been cringy, but so is the manhwa so its all good. But actually though, the manga makes you think that every female in the empire is either royalty or a slave, and either way they're cool with whatever you do to them as your nice to them for a chapter and a half.
But if your into that kind of stuff and want to go ahead anyway, prepare for shallow characters, generic plot, and a f*** ton of rape.
The arts pretty good too.
So there are no comments so I figured that I should provide an actual review to help people check this out.
So first of all, lets get the warnings (cons) out of the way: There's a lot of rape, abuse, human depravity, and general nasty-ness. That's the major downside. That being said, there are some caveats, see the 'pros' below.
So all that bad stuff is only done by the bad guys. There's no NTR, the main harem isn't part of it, though there is some rescuing from situations that almost become that. So save a heroine from her upcoming slavery, and she joins the main cast as a happy well adjusted person.
More pros:
-The art is utterly fantastic. While all the girls are ridiculously unrealistically attractive (which you might or might not like), the facial expressions are spot on, and the artist does a fantastic job of expressing emotions.
-A really good harem. Some people hate harems... but if so you're looking at an entirely wrong genre, so what are you even here for lol? All of the main heroines are awesome.
-The MC. I cannot stress this enough. Tired of Beta Japanese males who never do anything? Tired of Chinese Webnovel heroes who are arrogant toerags who slaughter everyone over perceived slights? Tired of the plucky shonen hero who's dense as hell and incapable of understanding emotions? Well look no further! The MC is none of the above; he's everything you could want. Respectful of women, wants to protect them, without resorting to chauvinism, strong when necessary, willing and able to actually be supportive. Oh, and it does bear mention that he has sex. Clearly, that's a common thing with these Korean webtoons, but again, he's NOT a eunich typical beta japanese protagonist.
-Last but not least, there's actual plot! No, i don't mean PLOT, but actual story! Borderline-H at times per the tag yes, but that DOESN'T mean it's just chapter after chapter of the MC getting laid. Don't get me wrong, he does... often lol, but it's actually not the focus of the plot. This is a fantasy story with scheming nobles, a journey across the land, bandits, evil religious leaders, missing princesses... etc. It's not an epic a la LotR or anything, but it actually does have a story.
So, long story short - whether or not you'll enjoy this probably depends on how much you deal with the nasty stuff going on.It's not like every character besides the MC and his Harem are evil or anything - there's actually some really good supporting characters - but this is clearly set in one of those 'evil nobles doing evil things' empires. If you can stomach that stuff (and i do mean STOMACH, there's some seriously nasty things going on), you'll really be pleasantly surprised by the art, story, and characters.. and yes, the sex. It's cute, the heroines are great (and hot), and the MC is awesome. Please give it a shot!
Oh, and props to the translators. Thanks for bringing this over!
