It could be better...

The first 5 chapters were really interesting, with the MC being just a weak guy acting as a guide, but using his brain to fight, while still dreaming of becoming a hero. That's exactly what I expected of a manhwa called "Warrior Kariel".

Can't say I like the next chapters, where the MC followed a random hero when he was just a beginner level guide. Why would someone as powerful as a Hero level warrior put a beginner guide and mage in his party? I can think of some reasons, as it was hinted in some future chapters, But it seems like poor writing because the author couldn't think of a more logical way to make the MC interact with the heroes.

The art style is pretty unique/rough, I think it's pretty, but sometimes it's messy. For example, it's difficult to tell the heroes apart because their designs are so similar. At least the backgrounds are handmade. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but the MC design is exactly the same as Eren Yeager, from Attack on Titan.

Dialogues are above average for a short and new manhwa, but I got bored quickly because every talk was always related to heros, and this is usually a pretty generic theme in fantasy stories.

A somewhat disappointing read for me, but still reading it because I wanted to see

when he becomes a hero, to see if the story changes too much and the quality improves. Actually, the title should be "Hero Kariel". I'm pretty sure the korean word could also mean warrior. but it's mostly used to refer to the hero who fights the demon king, and they explained during some chapter that there are two kind of heroes: the first are the mercenaries of hero level, and the second is the hero chosen by the sword to fight the demon king. Pretty obvious the MC is the second one, which makes this a lot more generic than I thought initially, because a Guide becoming a warrior solely through knowledge is much more interesting than a guide becoming the chosen Hero.
