According to eromanga historian and scholar Kaoru Nagayama, the titular work "redrew the map of eromanga in Japan" when first published in 1985. Nagayama goes on to claim that artist Tou Moriyama (a.k.a. Naoki Yamamoto) is an "important artist" whose historical influence on manga "is perhaps on par with Osamu Tezuka and Katsuhiro Otomo."
