Description
The main character is a detective, Kazuhiko Amamiya, suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder (a.k.a. Dissociative Identity Disorder). Starting out as a violent detective series with a twist (the twist being the variant personalities that take over Detective Amamiya at various intervals), the series evolves into an exceptionally complex and involved sci-fi conspiracy story.

Who scanned chapters 83-85?

After waiting years to read more of this, after Dark Horse dropped the ball (and scanlators never picked it up again), I found on another site that someone scanned chapters 83-85 from a google search. However, there wasn't any group information on the scans themselves, and this site doesn't have any information on it.
Does anyone know where these scans came from and if they're working on any more?

However silly the story (and over the top the violence) was, I still liked MPD Psycho.

This is one of the most confusing manga I've ever read

I read it once, got halfway (like chapter 50) and then realized I'd been coasting for the past 20 chapters, not really understanding anything. I put it down. Later I tried again, put it down. Within the last year I purchased physical copies of volume 1 and volume 2 and I told myself that I would UNDERSTAND THIS MANGA.

I got out a notebook. I wrote and circled the different personalities and tried to write down what was happening as the plot points developed. I'm a bit proud to say that I understood it much more when the 4th (?) time around, but it still was very confusing.

There's a fine line an author, writer, or comic artist has to draw between "giving up the ghost too soon" and "being obscure to the point of ridiculousness". Unfortunately, this manga falls into the latter near the last half of the story. I don't know if it's the intention that I simply stop caring about what the ultimate plan was, but it sure succeeded in doing that. I've read other works that were part of big government conspiracies that--while they were either out in the open upon discovery or remained secretive--still captured my interest.

Lucy Monostone is like, I don't know, the Joker from Batman. He is never pinned down, there is never anything that really tells us who he is, much less what the heck his cronies and that frequently naked woman's true goals are. Difference between the Joker and Monostone is that with the Joker you don't care about the backstory, you're set up with the backstory not mattering. With Monostone, the backstory is all I want to know about, the motives, the exact psychology of this dude, and I'm not given that. So I'm left with a vague boogieman that becomes more than tiresome whenever the main characters fail to promptly pin him down or hit a dead end.

I'm all for psychological mind games and plot twists, but not when they add up to a bunch of circles and nothing.

It had potential and it showed for a while...

I love manga about psychological disorders so I decided to give it a shot. I liked it at first, especially the personalities of the characters, and how they were distinct but not too 'out there'. The first let down happened when
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
they decided to introduce that stuff about 'becoming the perfect person' and genetic modification.
Even if I didn't like it, it drove the plot so I could accept it pretty easily. But when I really lost my interest was when
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the protagonist got killed off.
At that point the manga became so boring that I couldn't read any further.

All in all, I was pretty upset that the story decided to go off on a tangent, even though, in my opinion, it had a lot of potential.

Could have been better

It started out wonderfully and went that way for quite a while, but then the quality dropped. It's still an awesome read, though. But somewhere along the line we started getting more random stuff out of nowhere and an escalating plot that was progressing too quickly. I guess that's what it is. Kinda like a poor manga adaptation of a really long and complex novel. Not saying it is bad, but it could have been better.

good at first but...

I though this one was interesting at first, like some kind of serial murderous cases investigation, the art wasn't too dark and horrible, you just feel like watching discovery channel about human body structure (in a weird way, heh...), the story is quite intense, nerve-wrecking, make your eyes wanna pop out (literally) to see what's gonna happen next... and BOOOM! after 6 vols, it become quite dull and non-sense and boring and feel like babblings of some stupid thug blah blah blah
Seem like the author just trying to show of some disgusting scene of murder and gang fight, too bad, I was disappointed sad

Shallow, nonsensical manga

This manga has a highly convoluted and implausible storytelling which it goes some way towards compensating for with outlandish, grotesque scenes. If it had tried to be of the action genre rather than a detective/thriller series this apporach might have worked. However it didn't.

This manga is rubbish.

To tell you the truth, the idea sounded nice. I mean, here, I just read DeathNote, and I wanted a little more of the same kind of gorey-dramatic-brilliant morbidity.
And I'd heard that MPD Psycho was good, if not better. So I tried it.

But really, it's not quite as good as I hoped. And it's not b/c it's too commerical or whatever, because it isn't really. It's quite twisty, but it's too twisty, to the point where you lose track, and eventually, lose interest.

Sure, the scenes are...a lot more violent(and gorey:]) but art isn't the only thing readers pay attention to. Um, a GOOD, LOGICAL plotline would also be helpful?

But anyway, I'm just ranting. The art's not half bad, I suppose, if you like the bleak and black style. And if you want to keep track of a story that barely follows any sense, then you'll love this manga. It fits that description to a T.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Read the manga cause of the great reviews... got a kick in the balls after reading up to the latest chapter. The basic plot is that the main character has mulitple personalities, all of which are needed to revive some psychotic homicidal badass that committed suicide years ago.

I'm pretty open with manga/manwha storylines, but this one is just too nonsensical for me. I do not see any of that 'sublime beauty' or 'awe inspiring storyline' that other readers are going on about. The main character doesn't leave any impression with me at all (multiple personalities included).

I prefer Homunculus... at least that is interesting.

Bored sad . I read through volume 3 and all the time 1 question keep pop up in my head: Should I waste more time ? I love seinen and Psychological genre as they all have good plot and philosophy. But what MPD psycho show is more like a commercial , pop culture manga. The main character has multiple personal ? Nonsense. All of his character does not show any impression. For me he only has 2 persona only( or maybe just one ): a bland personal and a bland twisted one. If u ever read Homunculus u would see the difference. Homunculus is far more great than this second-class

This is indeed a sick and twisted manga. But I liked it smile Plot line is good. And most pleasing thing about this mangas protagonist, that he is a badass(one of his personalities is atleast) -there is nor crying and weeping as it usually is in this genre.

BTW on Hawkss site there are bittorrent links on chapters starting #1, so I think realese data is old or not full.
