Warm and Fuzzy and Cold

This webtoon is adorable, a veritable roller coaster of crying and giggling (more crying) as you empathize with the emotions of the characters and how they deal with prejudice, family tension, bullying and other issues or how they grow to value each other, their loved ones around them and slowly grow up.

Note that despite the intended gravity of the subject of disabilities, Lee Jun actually focuses relatively little on the intricacies of these, which might chagrin some readers who were looking for a more realistic portrayal of life with disabilities. As Wotonito mentioned, there might be some superficiality on certain emotions as well. I'm still a bit confused as to how exactly Da-jeong is supposed to behave, considering she's a 19 year old but looks like a 9 year old. She often acts like a child, despite her experience and perhaps her supposed rejection of being a child. Nevertheless, I often find myself thinking that that's not innaccurate, considering that most of us, as we age, don't necessarily feel all that much more matured, and considering that hormone levels and other factors of a child's body would play an important part in character.

And, whatever the extent of the realism or incomplete depiction of disabilities or the full range of emotions, where Lee Jun's crafstmanship really shines is in bringing together the different elements of our empathy, the characters' moods and very natural events to propel the human drama, making the series so touching and unique.

This web comic is so good. It's sweet and sad...is that bittersweet? I was hook when I read the summary, it sounded really interesting and bam! I read 42 chapters in a Sunday afternoon. Have to stop as I got ready for school on Monday... I even went to read it during lunch...hope this comic will last long and the author will stay healthy and great. This is the best web comics I read so far, the graphics are amazing!

The Friendly Winter is great. I can't really comment on the accuracy of the webcomic's portrayal of people with disabilities, but for the most part, I think the comic is fairly realistic and shows the darker and grittier parts of life, which is pretty admirable. There aren't really any happy endings, and the characters are neither good nor evil; they're just flawed individuals who're trying the best they can to live in an forgiving world.
The Friendly Winter's a very honest slice-of-life, and it's definitely worth checking out.

This is pretty much a really intense soap opera, but it is done in the best possible way. I love all of the main characters and think that they are brilliantly thought out. Da-jeong is by far my favorite (I see a lot of myself in her). If I was a girl with divorced parents and a growth disorder, I would probably act just like her, and a relateable character is something very appealing to me. I think most people appreciate when an author creates a character that seems almost as if it was based on your personality. Min-Seong makes me say "aww" every single chapter and makes me feel proud of him, sad for him, angry at him, and astounded by him. This author is an emotional genius!

Oh! I forgot to to mention the beautiful artwork! I love it. This manhwa has some of the better art that I've seen in a webcomic, maybe the best. If you are familiar with Feng Shen Ji, I would say they are similar, not in style but in quality.

Really touching story

i randomly passed by this series and decided what the heck and read one chapter then that same evening i caught up completely at chapter 42 because of how touching the story is. the story is really sad and some times inspiring at points but really good. plus one commenter below was commenting on the way Da-jeong has no shame when she crys and i think even if she is an adult (barely since shes just 19) she still not 100% mature plus some girls cant control the way they cry, ive seen some who cry loud or fall on the floor too that were older or around her age so yea. Plus damn Min-Seong man he has too many scenes that want to put you to tears man its way too sad, man usually i only feel i like defending a girl or child from a bad situation and think that a guy should man it out but damn his case makes me want to beat the hell out of everyone that bullies or abuses him cause i do see him as a kid too. anyway it makes me think of how much you have to protect a mentally handicapped kid from the world and how much worse its gonna be once he gets old cause there will be less sympathy and more misunderstandings and judgments man like of course chapter 42

It get's kinda depressing with the latest chapters. It looks like the author made a punching bag out of Min-Seong and puts him in more and more awkward situations. The series start to show that being handicapped makes your entire life miserable, which isn't true at all. I think the author also starts to be biased showing only the bad side of the life of a handicapped people and doesn't make any effort in showing anything else. It's kinda sad...

Perhaps that's to indicate that mind grows with body and vice versa. Da-jeong may have lived for 19 years, but with her stunted bodily growth (also lack of hormonal development, maybe?) it's possible that her mental growth has been somewhat compromised and still retains that juvenile aspect, which emerges from time to time when her emotions run high.

I have one main problem with this story...

This is the only real problem I have with the story, other than that I recommend it. Basically the problem is that the author really forgets to add the emotion just about everyone knows as "shame"... Da-Jeong certainly has the body of a child, but she is supposed to have the mind of a young adult yet she cries like a child does without covering her face at all, screaming as loud as she can in a crowd. If you pay attention to scenes where shame would, or should, exist, you will see that shame is severely lacking in the majority of those scenes.

@Passerby12 - It's not limited to Da-Jeong. Other characters (not necessarily Min-Seong) also have the same problem. They rarely ever express shame when it is appropriate to do so. Don't just focus on Da-Jeong not expressing it normally, it's also quite a few other characters introduced (notably her mother).

I've become addicted to this webcomic, it´s so cute TwT and makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside ~ I wish the chapters were longer, it seems that there is so much more to the characters that we have yet to discover :') . I recommend it, it's a sweet and fresh read, plus the art is gorgeous ;D

Can't See Can't Hear But Love in a different form perhaps? ;D
Looks cute so far, can't judge it too much from what I see right now, but I do think the art is rather fantastic. It's so clean and shiny. ~_~
Maybe I'll read ahead.
