this manga is a masterpeice it really is funny i wish all comedy mangas were like this but there not..it kinda dragged on a little but still worth reading every volume..although the translations got kinda annoying in the beginning like the guy below me said but they fixed it..it also got kinda annoying how Onizuka always made someone accidentally fall onto of the roof top
Definite worth torrenting

I mean, I've heard of the story line, absurd teacher teaching at a high classed private school. Add in random shit that happens during the story and the teacher itself and you have a fun few days of reading the whole series.
My only beef with the series are the translations that I get. The first few volumes had annoying blue text boxes with some horrid grammar, but eventually leveled itself out. Could anyone post a completed torrent with "correct scanlating"? Much appreciated and would benefit early volumes.

I didn't think I'd like this series at first - I just randomly decided to download for the heck of it. And then I got so addicted I finished the entire series (that's 25 volumes, mind you) in...a week, I think. It was pretty intense.
I love the plot, it made me LMFAO to bits. It got a little repetitive and outrageous toward the end, like other readers have said, but I love how the author gives the readers little insights into the minds of twisted students or the great Onizuka himself.
It's definitely got a lot of ecchi though. If you like that, fine, but if you don't, then the plot and LOL but meaningful stories more than make up for it. This is definitely one of my top rated school-life mangas, and I think anyone into the shounen-school life genres has to check this out.
Oh, one more thing: the art does take getting used to, it's not typical.

I really enjoyed this series. The plot was original and down to earth, although it got somewhat outrageous at the end. The events are common and easy for me to relate to, so I got into the manga.
However, it started going downhill near the end when they started having unbelievable events happen. If the manga had continued, my enjoyment of it would have dropped considerably.
Overall, the manga was very enjoyable, but I think the anime actually did a better job. It captured the idea of "dedication and trust in teaching" but removed the outrageous events so that the tone was more consistent.

alot of LOL moments, one of my favorite mangas. my friend's mom walked in on us reading this once. somehow we were so lucky that when she was flipping through the pages she only saw up to the fight scenes. if she had flipped one more page she would've seen a scene of old men being bondaged by middle-school girls... yes dont let this manga lie around if you still have parents-nose-poking problems.
later story lines feel like a bit of reruns. bad students -> worse students -> worser student -> worserer student -> worsererer student etc....
a minor thing thing that i really liked about it was that some pages are absolutely FILLED with texts, where every dialogue has a sub dialogue. and background texts such as signs, titles, newspapers are hilarious to read. also some of the "sound effects" in the fight boxes are hilariously (mis)-used.

The first time I saw this manga I thought it was going to be lame so I just looked around it. Now, 2 years later I finally read it and it's great sometimes the story kind of drags on but other then that its pretty good.
one of the best comedy mangas.

Been years since I saw the anime, except some single eps so thougth it was time to refresh my memory.
Prolly one of the best mangas (& anime) out theire. Especially when you're searching for a comedy. The only thing that annoyed me is that the mangaka is to soft on his villains.
He should have put some suckers in jail. Onizuka is a saint even when he has oni in his name.

I've just finished reading it for the second time... this manga is just too good, I really love the plot, main character is completely awesome and the art which is fairly detailed matches very well this manga's style.

This is most likely my #1 manga. I'm a sucker for ecchi, comedies and this delivers it with a powered hero-punch in the face. The story doesn't drag on nowhere and the art is great (this wouldn't have worked with any other style!). If you're not rooting for Oni by the end of this series maybe you should check your brain.
I give it a 10, not because its perfect in every aspect, but because if you're looking for something with ecchi, comedy, and action with a great fallback story you won't find better then GTO.
