Atmosphere is all over the place

This is supposed to be a thriller, but the tone of the story is way too upbeat and comedic. The characters are routinely depicted with cartoon expressions. There are jokes made that don‘t fit the story at all. I never felt an ounce of chill or fear or anything like that. Very bad sign for a thriller.

Artwork is ugly.

There are two plot twists that are decent but not mind-blowing. It‘s short so read it if you have a slow afternoon, but don‘t believe the other reviews here saying it‘s a great thriller.
It‘s not, not even remotely.

Better watch the movie Devil from 2010, same premise but the movie actually feels like a Thriller/Horror instead of a weird comedy-version of a thriller.

I am not a die hard mystery, detective fan so this manga works fine with a common like me. However, something is wrong there at the end

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The mastermind is the younger sister who has been missing since 2 months ago, the wife has married for 3 years, she even told her sister that her husband was cheating on her. How can the husband doesn't have any clue about the younger sister who is that close to his wife. At the end, the detective guy seems doesn't care about the maintenance guy anymore, that seem a bit down for me

who the mastermind was.

Hidden depths and great atmosphere, definitely recommended.

this reminds me of that story about some people being trapped in a lift with the Devil, but it goes to a completely other non-spiritual route. the art is a bit wonky and the proportions are just off, but the gripping plot take this manga the whole way.

Misleading category tags

A few of the category tags are entirely irrelevant to the story, and are based solely on impressions given out in the first chapter (mistakenly indicated as a oneshot) : there is no rape, arson or suicide in Akumu no Elevator.

The story is short (148 pages), but delivers well for something of that length. There's little that can be said without giving the plot away, other than that things are not what you'd expect. Quite a fascinating little thriller, despite not being particularly feasible in a real-life situation (which is the whole point of fiction, after all).

Yeah it really doesn't seem finished... and I really want to see what happens! It has an interesting premise and the first chapter really hooked me, which makes the cliffhanger all the more torturous! So please, someone scanslate the rest soon!

I really don't think this a oneshot, because it ended with just a cliffhanger. All them a least commit one deadly sin...
This really reminds me the movie called Devil(2010) that has the same plot(With people getting stuck in a elevator and all them at least commited one crime and then the lights start blacking out and each of them start getting killed, without knowing who among it killing them one by one....) with a shocking ending!
