Yuki Cross has no memory of her past prior to the moment she was saved from a vampire attack ten years ago. I love what this manga has become. 😉

And I think what we are seeing in vol 10+ is the true form of Vampire Knight, Yuuki has finally become a character I can get emotionally invensted in, now that she's acting more grown up, but that might just be because I'm an adult myself. xD
This is an awfully complicated manga though, so if you're expecting a standard shojou with love triagles and a twist of vampires, then this manga is nor for you. It's dark and the characters develop in ways you might not be happy with, I for one love it. And I'm looking forward to see how it all ends. : )

It was amazing and heartwrenching as it reached the end of the last arc.. but now I don't even know what's going on anymore. She's just throwing in little plot twists here and there that make me think, "Are you serious?" I don't know, I just hope it ends soon.

Whoa. My first post.

I picked up VK because a friend of mine raved about it and I trust her judgment. Unfortunately, she missed the mark. This is just my opinion, but here it is:

A) To me, the art is okay, not fantabulous like everyone seems to say. Their heads are all shaped like spinning "tops" -huge on the top and "ice pick" pointed chins on the bottom- and their eyes are enormous to the point of looking silly.

B) The plot seemed okay, at first, but as it progressed, it just felt a little boring to me (And I like shoujo and vampires, but this just didn't click). I started skimming pages from the first chapter and that's never a good sign.

C) I like Zero. I liked him from the start...

and that's why even though some people should have placed their spoilers in highlights, I'm still grateful that they spilled the beans. I admit, I can be a pairing brat and I'm not really interested in seeing Yuuki get with Kaname.

D) I like taboo manga a lot. I love the angst and all the things they have to endure to be together. However...

in this, I completely disagree with the incest, and the history of the parents being together, too, makes me feel a bit sick.

E) It's a very long manga. Having been a victim of InuYasha, I'm not trying to invest that kind of time into another manga, especially when it seems to be dragging on for the sole purpose of just being long. Like InuYasha...

So, because of those reasons (other reasons exist, but these are enough), I'm dropping this one very early on.

at first, when i started reading this manga, i was all OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG SO KKAAWWAAIIII~, but recently, since

yuuki turned into a vampire , things have started to get kinda boring. of course i still look forward to updates, and i have to read on onemanga since it got licensed on mangafox, the plot is kinda boring now, and to me has no action. the characters are always gloomy, and the atmosphere is overall depressing. i reckon the story has been dragged out too much, and something new should be introduced into it.
if i had to review this manga at the stage where i was one quarter way or halfway through it, i would have given it a 10, but now at this stage, i'm considering putting a 7, but i still love the orignal plot to this manga, and the art is pretty good as well (the art looks wwaayy better in the books than in scanlations), but now im giving it an 8.
-my fingers are realyy, really, really cold so i keep on making mistakes on what im typing ==

Just being honest. I love the art!
I love the complicated love story (complicated world) of the manga. I admire the complexity of the characters and situations depicted in the book

(how Yuki cannot be satisfied by the blood of her "true love", but needs both Kaname and Zero). There's a lot of tension between characters. Especially now that Yuki already found out that Kaname is not really her brother, but an ancient vampire that was awakened by Rido. Personally, I want to find out what happens to the whole Rido and Kaname story line. I hope Yuki ends up with Kaname, because they were destined to be together from the very start. Though I like Zero (who doesn't!), he is just necessary for plot conflict . Though I do have some issues with the story lines, there's nothing major to fix. Overall, bravo! Love the series, and I would continue reading it until I've read the whole series at least 3 times. 🙂

The Good and the Bad

The BAD: I'm a bit dissapointed in Hino Matsuri. The story has a very depressing mood. It's sorta like Sasuke going "emo" (as people say) in Naruto. As much as I love the characters only Yuki doesn't give up or majorly depressed (until recently) and the principle is the only one that livens up the story.
I also get the character names mixed up alot. But that may be just personal.
The GOOD: The plot is great and so is the artwork (For goodness sake we're talking about Matsuri Hino!) It's very mesmerizing and you can almost feel the characters emotions.

don't get me wrong i love VK but the past chapters is a little disappointing (chapter 50-51)...cause (spoiler alert!)

I'm beggining to hate Yuki she's being selfish.. i have to agree with the other comments .. why can't she decide doesn't she already pick Kaname-sama. She's hurting Kaname -sama and Zero in the process. I'm a fan of Kaname but i rather her be with Zero than see Kaname hurt.

ok, i really really like it. i love "vampires-supernatural-powerful-i-am-undefeatable" stuff...so yeah, i really like(d) it...till

chapter 50...because in 51...and now i guess that this can be clasified as a spoiler :)

omg...i just hate it when we find in some manga heroine who cannot decide between two or more guys and makes them suffer...i don´t care if it´s kaname or zero but i already thought that she has decided and now this...her other part loves zero ??? hasn´t she already decided ??? vrrrrr! make up your mind girl! because it´s getting really f******annoying... every month i´m waiting for some development and what do i get? another waiting for (hopefully...) better development....

edit after final chapter: WHAT 😕 WHAT 😕 HINO, U ARE SUCH A &@># AND &@>#>#& OH DEAR, I should have NEVER even started this...

terrible ending, but at least that

I love this but this is not the best work ever.
The art is good, the story is okay, though I really cannot say it is the best, since I guess most of the plots correct right in the beginning. Still, you can fell in love with a character or two. For those who have read LOADS of manga, the plot may not satisfy you but the characters are really attractive, I must say.
