Description

From Viz:
Yuki Cross has no memory of her past prior to the moment she was saved from a vampire attack ten years ago. She was adopted by the headmaster of Cross Academy and now works alongside Zero to guard the Academy's secret. The manga at first was so catchy and then become worser than worse have really random plot. And now I just want to say that I HATE the yuki in this manga/anime! hehe ^^ lol! Man! I'd never hate an anime/manga main lead actress before until now! haha ^^ I apologies for the fans of yuki ^^ I just want to release this disappointment after reading this manga xD sorry! ^^

Im not really attracted to vampires and all that stuff, but after watching this anime and now reading the manga, I am amazed! The most beautiful character I have ever seen is Kaname. Good work, Hino, for creating something so gorgeous like him and the story altogether!

I admit I couldn't help but sympathize with some of the comments already written but I think most of that is because the story isn't predictable any longer nor has it become your cliche vampire romance. Yes it's a little slow but I still believe there is an interesting twist regarding Yuuki, Kaname and Zero yet to come. So read it and just be patient. There is still more that can happen between the three and I hope it doesn't end anytime soon.

This used to be my all-time manga before.

But I don't know what happeneed, its like everything after rido just got all confused and stupid.

Before this was the best manga ever. Personally I think the charector slowed down, and she tried to make new charectors, with little development.

THE WORST CHANGE, was changing her drawing style, before she used to pay attention to the details, but now she doesn't even put the pupil in the eyes.

Personally I wouldn't recommended it anymore, because the farther you go the worser it gets.

Nothing has happened for the past 20 chapters.
I'm dropping this cause it's getting boring. All the characters do is walk around and act angsty.

It's supposed to be dark and tragic from the start

The story first goes with Yuki being cheerful la-la~
If you purchase the licensed version, it will detail Hino-sensei's objectives of the story.
She mentioned that she wanted to draw a dark story, twist, and tragic love.
So there's no need to fuss over --> why the characters change blah blah blah.
I read the first volume when it first came out. After my reading hiatus, I read the whole thing. So it's understandable. In fact, some of my predictions became true.
Actually, I really like the story. But I don't think I'll be able to accept a tragic story in the end TT_TT
Hino-sensei mentioned that VOL. 1-10 is Vampire Knight Part 1.
So, I guess that there'll be 18-20 (or more) volumes overall.
The story details about Vampires VS Hunters and the governing body. Precisely, it is like politics.
Here it goes. The art is beautiful and detailed. The story indeed has become dark (even though the art is not so 'dark enough'.)
Hino's sensei's art-coloring has changed, for instance, the eyes and face. Normally, as time goes on drawings will improve, but I think the art of characters is worsened.

(further read CONTAIN SPOILERS). It has spoilers as well as my opinion. Please don't read if you don't want to spoil your mood.

One of my predictions was that: Yuki must be a vampire. I sensed that since the beginning. Look at the red eyes! That's why I did't fuss when she turns into a vampire.
What I cannot predict is; Who will Yuki choose?
The next sense I have is: Zero was born to die. He was never happy in his life. When he realizes that his happiness has been fulfilled, he'll soon die. (quite depressing).
It is also possible that Kaname might die coz he's the progenitor of vampires. He is capable of ending the Vampires' existence. If he dies, there won't be vampires left.
The ending? I sense it might be a "new world". lol ^^

Not to be biased, as I found this to be a pretty good manga, but I'm not going to go fangirl here. Overall, this was not bad. I can't say it's generic, as it's the hit of most vampiric graphic novels. It stands, (or stood,) as a representation of vampire romance.

Art: It's sweet, with gothic representations. The girls are pretty, the guys are loved. If you're looking for a hit with good art, this is for you. (Don't forget /vampires/ with good art.) Warning: looking at gothic styled eyes will get you slightly frustrated. And also, there are about three expressions. Happy, angsty, and neutral.

Plot line: It changed, but it was interesting. There is incest, and it became a real turn-off. The past... 10 chapters I believe, went slow, with no real goal in mind for how the end could be rounded off. I believe this should have ended around the same place the anime ended, except formulated not so abruptly. I wish it didn't drag.

Characters: Sorry, but they're done. Zero seems the same since the beginning, and Yuki has the same face and "pain" for the same scenes. Kaname bears the same unduly face as well. Flat for the most part, with bursts of angst at some points.

It was funny, in the beginning, and it was slightly tear jerking. (But I'm a wuss, I know.) I'm not bashing the looks of the main characters, only the context. (So don't fangirl me D: ) The plot line should have died a while back, but if you want to read some romantic edgy vampires, go ahead... for now. 😀

Wow, i used to really love this manga.. I liked the art, the story, the characters, pretty much everything. But now as i read more and more, i've gone from being excited to just reading it so that i can finish it and be done with it. Its just dragging on and on with more and more meaningless twists being added only to make the story as long as possible and totally destroying what couldve been a really good manga. I have to say im really dissapointed.

I agree with most that the art is beautiful (hurrah pretty boys) and the detailing is exquisite (almost even comparable to Princess background designs). The manga had a great start especially with the interesting plot elements (day/night class, vampires with special powers and such) but the storyline was often shaky and then it got WEIRD just as it became interesting: when Yuki found out about herself AND when Kaname's identity was revealed. It could've gone a different direction. Incest is just ... too "please don't go there".

There were already a lot of dark emotions and secrets already being thrown about in the story, I don't think something like brotherxsister love was needed. I was really looking forward to more than just a love triangle and was expecting a deeper character development or story development; and just maybe that is coming... hopefully. since Yuki did just recover her memory.

I love the art in this manga, and the way the "fighting" scenes were drawn were very good, not too pretty and not too much angst/violence. I would suggest reading this manga only after ALL of the chapters have been released because some may just end up frustrated at the pace or at the direction it is currently going. It's an OK read, not a great one at this point, the first few volumes might interest you but other than that... it's almost, ALMOST a typical shoujo story.

Read on for gorgeous Kaname and hot Zero 🙂
