As of this post the 54th chapter had just recently been scanlated. And for a manga that started in 2017 it has only reached the equivalent of Vol 4 of the light novel...which was released back in 2017. So it took them 6 YEARS to cover 4 Light Novels of a currently 18 BOOK SERIES. And these last few chapters were boring af. Yeah I'm dropping this series like the trash it is.

Like many isekai, this series doesn't aspire to much more than jerking about how amazing the main character is. The entire series revolves around him just making a - sometimes stupid - reform, and everyone being amazed while the country goes through a decade worth of changes in a single week.

To top it off, the female characters are all drawn with their bizarrely proportioned bodies overly exposed, and act essentially as footstools to the MC, several eventually falling in love with him.

I honestly hate this entire genre of animanga, what a blight upon the medium.

Edit: after ch45 I'm really disillusioned with this series, he just imposes his values and everyone submits. I mean, half a kingdom was massacred in a civil war and the conclusion is him marrying to the loli princess that made things worse... WHY? I had my doubts and wanted to see how things advanced, but the plot is basically him being a despot king, whilst every male in his way is conveniently evil and he goes catching nobel girls as if they were pokemon. I mean he is way too snobbish and elitist to defend equality. It's the wet dream of a ultra nationalist Japanese dictator rather than a modern common person.

Outside for the males awkward personality when reacting familiar to the oposite sex and how some parts are dumbed down, the story is quite nice. It doesn't try to base itself blindly on videogames or videogame logic, so I found it quite refreshing.

The author isn't a genius and was probably inspired by the most political isekais, but up to now the manga has been quite mild in the political aspect (I retract this). You can feel this in the fact that even though they don't glorify Japanese culture they do accept it way too fast; the absence of magical engineers in a hard fantasy, in contrast to the existence of armoured boats (really reminds us of the space Yamato memes ) and the use of animals substituting machines, people randomly sacrificed because of "loyalty"...

Up to now there were some apparent glaring flaws in the plot, but it was actually revealed at the end that the first battles were a military movement planed in advance (before the MC was summoned). I really liked that dynamic way to set the scene. Though I have yet to understand why the enemies haven't developed used communication devices (there is little sense in using pigeons for urgent stuff if instant communication exists, the origin later becomes a plot hole). I'm guessing the manner in which he became king is a weak spot of the novel and they glossed it out (there being matriarchies contrasts with how the MC is a boy and how the existence of polygamy.

I came to this manga after watching the anime made about it, and the start of the story is a lot better fleshed out than in the manga.

Like the events leading up to the King abdicating in favor of the hero, or how the hero found out about his magic power.

It's also better in terms of the princess' position towards the hero: we get that the princess acquiesces to the abdication after meeting the hero and hearing his reasoning (and about him wishing to give the throne back after getting the kingdom back into shape), but not that she falls for the hero just upon being shown the cotton field problem.

It's extremely low effort writing. Like similar kingdom-management manga, everyone else has been dumbed down to make the MC and his allies look better. The enemies are incompetent, anyone inside his kingdom not approved by the MC is a moron. Details are just glossed over, no matter the topic, be it battles or economics. Typical stuff for this type of manga. Manga like this one do not do well in the shounen genre. It's too childish for what it attempts to achieve. You have to ignore the repeated stupidity and absurd situations in order to read this.
Stuff like a skinny dark elf female wielding a huge greatsword and some dude dual-wielding two pole weapons... cringe discussions like two chicks talking about making the king smile again in the middle of a battle. The MC acting like a grass-fed beta male, perfect for being a secretary or advisor, but instead for some dumb reason just being handed the crown to a kingdom.

The story is pretty straight forward isekai, the protagonist gets summoned to a fantasy world, where he is requested to save the Kingdom he is summoned from impending doom, and pretty usually for all heroes who are summoned in these types of settings, he gains a magical skill. But unusually, in his case, it was a dark attribute one called Living Poltergeist, which has pretty limited usability in Combat, except for administrative purposes, which he has a knack for since he was a university student in Social Economics, so from a hero, he becomes a King.

Later you learn the true reason he was summoned, it was due to a faulty treaty the Kingdom was forced upon, which put them in an Economic trap and being a "realist", he immediately sets the kingdom on the road to economic recovery and reforms, while at the same time taking care of civic unrest and an uprising that was brooming, which would impede unification and stunt the potential economic and social growth of the Kingdom.

From there on, he begins to tackle external threats to the Kingdom, like other Empires and the overlaying threat to all Humanity at the setting, which would be the Demons.

The start is crap. Keep reading as it is very entertaining.

After a bad start, where the MC is summoned and he's given the throne by a king that acts like a 10 year old retard (when he's supposed to be a wise king), it's needless to say I had very low expectations of what was to come, yet that's where the convenient stupidity ended. I have to say this is a quite interesting manga, it's a more mature take on the isekai genre while still having many features of a shounen manga.
In any case, there are no power ups, no hero BS, no OP skills and so on, the MC is a very intelligent and knowledgeable (a bit too much imo) guy that after being summoned decides to do his best with the hand dealt to him and starts with reforms and so on. Basically an Earthling ruling an Isekai kingdom and the author makes it work out well enough.

The manga has little comedy and takes itself seriously, it's so far somewhat entertaining and has some action but few fights per se, still, it's interesting seeing the MC using his earth knowledge in the isekai, this is of course nothing new and has been done many time yet it's mostly well told and presented which is always welcome. Furthermore, except for how voluptuous the female bodies are it keeps the fanservice to a minimum, and the harem is not the over the top annoying kind, it's kept civil with no childishness nor pettiness; I'm so fed up with the harem genre that a reprieve is welcome.

So yeah, probably not for everyone but I welcome the more serious and mature approach, making it more "realistic" and thus believable and immersive.
