Story is jumping like hell with no real atmosphere. Feels like shortstory with no end.
This is the fifth Chinese webtoon I’ve attempted to read today that has r@pe in the first few chapters. What is this obsession with rich, powerful, handsome rapists in Chinese works? I’m beyond the point of being just nauseous or revolted — I’m angry. And sad. Surely sexual assault isn’t so normalized that younger readers who are drawn to shoujo/josei romance are supposed to think this is okay?
Anyway, the attractive male lead is apparently under the influence of aphrodisiacs, so that’s supposed to make it okay that he forced himself on the main character while she protested, and then tried to pay her off with a credit card. Even if she were a prostitute, like he assumed when his friend brought her unconcious body from off the streets, he should’ve stopped when she said no.
