Description
From SuBLime:
Tired of accusations that family connections got him his current position, Ritsu Onodera quits his job as an editor at his father's company and transfers to Marukawa Publishing. Once there, he is assigned to the shojo manga editorial department - something he has no interest in and no experience with. Having sworn he'd never fall in love again, the last thing he wants to do is work on love stories. To make matters worse, it turns out that his overbearing boss, Masamune Takano, is actually his first love from high school.

Really Love It!!

This is my favorite yaoi manga, the art is not that good but I love her art, I can feel the character's feeling from her art that's why i love it so much, her art have improved a lot. And the story is very touching, i can feel that Takano really do loves Ritsu and treasure him. The sex scene is hot enough for me, especially their expression, it feels like i always go "kyaaaa" the moment i saw them having sex.

I used to hate yaoi, but after i reading this i was thought "Yaoi is not bad huh, it actually very good..." and i becomes a fujoshi right away. Honestly, i always thinking "Why don't u just admit it that you fell for Takano already, Ritsu!!!" the moment I saw Onodera get tsundere all the time. I even shouted because of it in my bedroom alone like a crazy.

Anyway I really loves this manga very much! I hope the scanlations will continue to scan and translate it this manga.

This is why i'm in love with Yaoi

It's not like Ritsu isn't in love with Takano right now. But it takes him long time to confess properly because he's a tsundere and his heart had been broken once. In the latest chapter, i remembered that he was scared about the future or some thing like "What comes after "happily ever after"" and asked Takano what would they do if they lived together and started dating. I like that. Ritsu is wanting a secure hapiness, like an ADULT.
P/S: I really like Nakamura-sensei quotes in this serie (more than Junjou Romantica) and her art is improving a lot smile

Definitely anticipating every chapter

This manga is good and has a potential and way better than Junjou Romantica in many aspects (mostly the storyline). Anyway, I hope Nakamura-sensei would hurry and finish this up, which I think is pretty near considering the remaining days mentioned on the last pages of each chapter (unless she decides to put up new chapters from other pair which I totally don't like much, to admit). The pair I like most is, as hinted already, is Takano and Ritsu's. Other pairs don't seem to have anywhere to go (well, maybe Hatori's can improve?).

So sad though that the scanlation team stopped scanlating this and opted to just summarize each chapter which doesn't give justice to the manga at all. Sublime, the publishing company who licensed the series, will probably take 2-3 years to reach the part where the manga is at this point (and the wait is gonna be hard). But UPDATE, someone took it up and now I'm reading it! So happy biggrin

why?

Why is it taking Ritsu so long to fall in love? 90 days? I like how it's not like most yaoi that like "sex leads to love", but 365 days. Nakamura is a joker smoker. It's a good manga overall and I can see why it's some people's favorite. It's just not mine. Frankly there are way better yaoi out there. Not a lot but I've read a few.

I on the other hand don't mind the high rating

I'm not surprised for the "high rating" this manga has... Because i enjoy it though i won't rate it just yet.
The art, i think, it kind of bothered me at first, but now in the last 2 chapters 17-18 the art seems to have "improved/changed" but i MISS the old art, strange i know, i guess i got used to it, and it grew within me that particular style.
It might be cliche but not completely and that's nice, i like the characters and their personalities (most of it at least) . But i'm actually only paying attention to Ritsu and Takano's story.

Totally overrated!

You would think working as a mangaka for 15+ years, your drawings would improve so much by now; but, nope, it's still hideous and one dimensional. Does she think people find her ugly drawings cute? Not to mention the way she draws her characters' eyes. *shudders*

Her manga are totally overrated, I can name at least ten mangaka who deserve the same level of fame and recognition than her.

So why are there so many fujoshi drawn to this kind of story? Which, by the way, is the SAME formula for all her stories. First, she makes two main characters share a past. Second, creates never-ending and repetitive conflicts between them. Third, makes the readers guess "will they won't they finally accept each other". Those who have waited for 9+ volumes to see whether the main character will crawl out of his denial and accept his feeling is ******. She won't give you the satisfaction at all! Of course, that main character will stay "strong" and vow to stay out of love; if not, the story will become boring so be sure to just drag the story for as long as possible. After all, 9 volumes is nothing, she needs to make sure it reaches 18 volumes.

I think it's disgusting to see other people assume yaoi stories are like that. No, there are a lot of mangaka who can come up with brilliant stories and draw yummy sex scenes. Especially not art that looks like it's drawn by a novice teenager.

cliche cliche

I honestly dont think this manga is /horrible/ but its definitely not as good as it ratings chalk it up to be. (and I actually think its a whole lot better than Junjou Romantica)
The most prominent thing about series is the repetition of basically misunderstands and some smut. Really the whole plot just moves practically at a stand still because of all the unnecessary and ridiculous misunderstandings.
While I'm not too crazy over most of the sex scenes and such, I would admit that I find the humor to be good and I enjoy that aspect of it.
I say, read a little bit of it, and if it suits your taste or not, then thats what youll pretty much be getting for the rest of it.

In Denial

Some hate this manga, some love it. It depends on if you like the following: nostalgia, denial, tsundere, cliche, and one more theme I find hard to put into words. The scenarios repeat over and over with slight changes like those that hate this manga say. But the slight changes are where the story and intrigue is at for me. It's that part of the manga that, for me, paints a picture of people desperately fighting both for and against a change in themselves that they both fear and need.

If you like inner conflict and internal struggles as much as I do (I believe how you deal is a big part of what shapes you as a person), then you can get past the cliches.

HINT: if i had to take a wild guess, I'd say introverts and those that like introverts might seriously enjoy this manga. Otherwise, you could seriously hate it.

Or you could have been seriously sheltered and repressed like I was and therefore relate to a lot of throbbing "in denial" about lust heartache and mind-blows.

I swore I'd never read this as I absolutely loathe junjou romantica, but my boredom one night forced me to reconsider. I will say, it's not quite as awful as JR, but I wouldn't call it good either. It is your archetypical, tired trope laden yaoi. Most of the couples have one character who is your standard tsundere type to an annoying degree. It just drags on and never really changes. The characters have only slightly changed since chapter one, yet we've run through the same scenarios over and over again. Nevermind the fact that I'm not entirely sure why any of them are in love to begin with. I can't stand half of them. All that said, it wasn't excessively boring as the writing is not without its good points. I can't say I was pleasantly surprised though.

I can say a lot of things about why I love Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, but it'll take like 3 days. It's my favorite after Junjou Romantica and Koisuru Boukun...and thats says a lot.

But seriously Onodera have to tell Takano that he loves him too! How long will it take? How many more chapters or even volumes?
