I’ve up through chapter 276 so far, and while it’s not so spectacular that I’d read it multiple times, it’s definitely interesting. The beginning is a bit slow and has some common clichés, but it gets better as it goes. Compared to other stories in this genre which typically focus only on the MC’s climb up from the bottom, this story brings in more of the larger power struggles going on in the country and how they effect the MC’s growth directly and indirectly.
It’s best read if you have time to binge read it, as there are a lot of characters and subplots that are difficult to keep track of if you only read one chapter a day/week.

The protagonist had some problems in terms of strength before (his wifey was always saving him). Still, after some time and patience with the series you see he is saving her now. This cultivation world the MC lives is cruel, and he changes to match his environment. He is cold blooded to his enemies, but kind to his comrades. Another thing I can add is that he has more girls in his entourage than guys (a harem has to be made eventually). It is best to read a couple of chapters because you make a opinion on this manhua and MC.

Lots of arrogants and psycho mc in this kind of webnovels, but this particular mc has no redeeming qualities and it's incredibly hard to root for him.
Read something else, this is quite bad.

81.1 in Manhua Corresponds to 157 in novel

Just like the novel, except more disjointed. Ratings must be propped?

I've no idea if the original novel is equally bad but this is terrible. The story has absolutely no flow. Each chapter feels like it stands more or less alone with the most tenuous of relations to those preceding it. The plot moves jerkily along with no rhyme or reason. The protagonist powers up seemingly off-screen, you can't even be annoyed at how cheesy it is because the author never bothers to explain why the protagonist is so powerful. Beyond that all of the characters are paper thin and their motivations and behaviour either have no justification or are completely bizarre. The protagonist is in theory a modern day guy who died in a car accident. Yet literally within days of his rebirth he is crippling people, callously murdering people he's beaten and so on. The artwork is mediocre, the story is, even for a genre piece, painfully unoriginal. There is nothing that redeems this. I would oh so strongly suggest not wasting your time.

In my opinion, the worst aspect of it is the characters, every single character starting from the MC is meaningless, i guarantee you will not care about any of them. Everything feels extremely forced and rushed, the MC gets more and more powerful for no apparent reason, other than to further the "plot". It looks like 90% of people in that world are all evil and think too highly of themselves and I guess the author wants us to sympathize with the MC because of how everyone treats him, but no thank you.

The world building is complete shit, or well there is none. We get a little explanation of the powers at the beginning and that's it. The MC just goes from place to place and the reader has no idea why really and what it represents.

I don't know if it's the same in the LN but either way i really don't recommend this manhua to anyone

Not much to say about this one... really plain and so-so characters, world building, interactions and action... another "cultivator" martial arts manhua...
Tranlator @allen made a huge effort translating this at lightspeed and filling huge gaps from an otherwise hasty an poor novel adaptation... kudos for him! guys like him make the community of scanlations richer and worthwile!

tl;dr not only is it just a bundle of cliches, it doesn't even have decent execution of the basic concepts.

how in gods name has anyone read this, not immediately thought of a better xianxia/wuxia/manhua they'd rather read.
first off the premis is convoluted, why is it a reborn from the modern world cliche? he doesn't use his modern world info to any real extent, plenty of classics doesn't have transport to new world but the same set of occurances, gaining another lifes memmories/getting over powered from small plot devices, but the execution here is so badly paced, so unclear.

protagonist suddenly gains strength, alright fine, there are plenty of mindless power trip works out there. but the protagonist here is also mindlessly bloodthirsty?? killing people who have strong backgrounds? and complete bystandars are ok with this, and want to take responsibility alongside?? characters make no sense at all, it feels like a copy and past of a good novel with all the parts necassary for a good story cut out. how does the protagonist not get killed like the people he kills? his dual spirit, which is barely explained, can't prevent him from being murdered by some elder when he himself is getting away with killing disciples


frankly the only way to enjoy this is to be so braindead, you're looking to get a hard on a revenge story. and even then its not even a good revenge story, the writing is so lazy i'd actually recommend martial god ashura, same shitty characters in the same lackluster genres but at least the writing has a modicum of effort.


i might read the novel from where this is adapted but god is this adaotion a no thanks for me
