Good Potential

I am not very good at English, have to say it first.

It's a bit sad that the WN and LN are currently on hiatus (or even axed for some reason 🙁(, some said that because the author did something wrong I don't know) since 2020 (2021 for the manga version)
So after reading through the first 10 volumes and currently progressing through volume 11, I am positive that this series is some of the best ones I've read in years. It's not the best, just average compared to others but to me, it's a solid 10.

MC Loren is Guts from Berserk at home with a more light-hearted background, a strong hunky big tall man with an absurdly big sword. He's not dense for me, but still mature enough to guide others.

The girl lead, Lapis at first seems to be just a generic love interest for MC but nope, she is surprisingly smart, cunning, and manipulative in a good way, also strong enough to not be a burden for MC. If one said she is even stronger than MC is not exaggerated either. And the dynamic between them is enjoyable enough.

Except for the first couple of side "Mobs" in the first few chapters, the rest of the cast is very enjoyable to watch, and they all have their unique trait to stand out.

The art is nice, and all characters are good. There is also a balance and healthy amount of fan service for both male and female readers alike.

The way the story is being fleshed out and the world-building are the weakest points for me tbh. Don't get me wrong, it's good but I think the potential is not well exploited. But true to the title, every volume is a journey of the MC duo to an adventure, the journey turns out to be not what it seems and the trouble is much worse. And it all solved in some way, and somehow our MC got sent to the hospital every time in the end. The problem is, every book feels the same, and the setting is somewhat central to one area. But I think at around volume 8 and beyond, the problem is being fixed little by little, so. The plot itself is also unique enough to stand out even though it is not something new in general.

But now we just have to wait, until we can see the end of the series then I can make another proper review. It's a good read, and depending on your taste, it may suit and please you throughout.
