Description
Teenage magician Kaito Kuroba has a secret identity: that of Kaitou Kid, a famous internationally-known and wanted "phantom thief". Kaito took the identity after one day discovering that his late father was the original Kaitou Kid. Later on, he discovers his father, who died from an 'accident' during a magic trick, was really murdered because he would not steal the jewel Pandora for an evil organization. i really really want to like this, but i just cant. i suppose a part of it cos of the drawing style...but largely the plot and tricks have more holes than swiss cheese. i read this just after conan marathon, so the plot is just too unrealistic i guess. and the characters are just too childish. it's very hard just to read one volume, i don't know whether i can continue on
I've been a fan of this manga for a long time. I bought it when it only had 3 volumes out. Then suddenly, after many years, they finally release vol 4. Although, vol. 4 didn't add to the plot, it just includes the Kaitou Kid specials that were from Detective Conan. I thought he dropped this series, and so I thought it was "complete". But is it possible that he will write more for Magic Kaitou? I really hope so, this is one of my favorites.

if you like Kid in Conan , you definitely need to check this out. It'll tell you the origin of Kid. And besides, this one is hillarious. Although the drawing is old and not as good as Gosho Aoyama-sensei's currently drawing, but the plot is worth to read.
This one is a fun read. Kid's tricks aren't quite as cool as the ones he pulls in Detective Conan (but DC takes place after MK, so Kid has more experience behind him in DC), and the drawing style is a little weird at first, but it improves. There's an interesting guesst appearence of everybody's favorite meitantei...
It was a good read, and you get some cool looks at some of Kid's behind the scene work. You get to see it centered on him instead of the cops. A nice change from DC.

Do you like the Kaitou Kid from Detective Conan? If so, it would be a crime if you missed out on this! It tells about the origin of Kaitou Kid and also some of his schemes. A fun read indeed.
