The main story has a deeper meaning. There is a reincarnation involved, and I understand what is happening with Isao. I went through lots of rejections in my life and lost hope, but I’m not supposed to give up. The last story is heart-warming but silly at one part.

I've read "You In My Jewelled Mirror" before but never gotten to the main story. I get why. it's really no good. I like Mizukami-sensei but she does comedy way better than drama. It's almost sad how failed the main story is.
The oneshot though is simple and cute. It's nothing more than what it tries to be and it's nice to read about a kid who suddenly gets a pretty descent life like that. And also that big happy family thing is just too good!

Main story a bit sucks

the main story between takashi and isao is : S-U-C-K-S . their love just NEVER united from life after life and the ending is soo LAME!! it makes ma angry when i know that the ending is just like that without both of them being all lovey dovey or something like that.

the side story is good one though and sexy... i like it better than the main story...

the main story dragged on and it might've been okay if the story compensated by explaining how the uke gradually fell inlove with the seme....but all we got is mindless fornicating and hopeless musings from the uke. The oneshot on the other hand is very engaging and beautiful.

I suggest you skip the main story and go for the oneshot.

The plot of the main story is horrendous. I kept hoping that it would get better because this mangaka rarely disappoints me but by the third chapter I just wanted the whole thing to be over. The oneshot was better than the first story but it was still average at best. It only seems to be great because of how awful the main story was.

The stories are interesting, funny and entertaining, the art is beautiful as always. And to complete my happiness the second story have a "fox deity". Sensei makes some awesome mythical stories. I loved it.

this manga was ridiculous, Isao is in love with the same guy for many lifetimes, but the guy is a complete heartless jerk, and for some reason that i dont get he loves this man. a man that is capable of sleeping with him and his wife like its nothing. Isao spends the entire manga in love with this guy, and in the end after sleeping with Takashi he disappears for five years and yet Isao is so happy to meet up with Takashi again? i dont get it, if he didnt like him in all the lifetimes why in the world would he go back to him? its obvious he doesnt love Takashi, he should just leave him alone. we're expected to believe Isao stayed away from his ex-lover during all that time. if you like love triangles where some random guy falls for a guy that loves someone else then you'll like this, if not, dont bother reading it... the only reason i gave a 5 was because id love to give a ten for You In My Jewelled Mirror, the 2nd story was so sweet and i loved the characters, but the first story deserves a 0, so i gave a 5...

I rate the main story about a 7 and the oneshot "You in my jewelled hand mirror" a 9.5. I give the manga as a whole an 8.5. The main story was good, but because the oneshot was so fine, it outshone the main story. The story of devotion and love is truly moving.
