So what we have going on here is a 4-koma about a young boy falling in love with his elementary school teacher, to which he asks to go out with her about 10 or so years later. The couple has the same running gags going on, mainly with the female lead worried about dating her former student at such an age (where everyone else her age's getting married), the male lead having constant flashbacks about the times he was in love with his teacher in elementary school, and the two of them getting crazy flustered over the shear idea of intimacy.
It's lighthearted as Hell with it's romance and comedy, which for me I'd argue is coming up as pretty weak, where it only boils down to "being cute" as for the only reason to read it. Other 4-komas like Onimote manages to capture as much of the usual ecchi-romcom-harem shenanigans seen in weekly/monthly series, all within the constrains of mainly 4 panels for setting up gags, cute love advances, and potential conflicts for characters; Ojojojo drastically advances the (romantic) relationship between a cute boy and a cute girl, with their bizarre quirks preventing them from making any other friends easily; and with Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon, although it's not a 4-koma, it knows how to create some nicely stylized artwork + absurdly humorous situations to go along with it's insanely cute slice of life story.
Oh yeah, and about the "pedophilia" matter I brought up above...
There was a single side chapter where the mangaka reversed the positions of the characters early on, with the male lead being the older teacher and the female lead being the elementary school student. The big issue's that instead of her now being overly affectionate toward him as the adult, the situation has him still in love with her. Kinda came off as creepy for the most part rather than funny, where I believe the mangaka himself was aware of that being the case.
Now, this non-canon, throwaway side chapter doesn't break the whole series for me simply due to its existence, but it does kind of reflect the dynamics between their relationship, and how dull it comes off as: The male lead having this overwhelmingly premature and innocent love for her, while the female lead goes along with his feelings, yet doesn't quite give the impression that her feelings will manage to develop to the same level he's giving off. The series is still is cute regardless of my opinion of its execution, but again, I wish it had something more to add into it...
