Same-chan Shiiku Nikki, A.K.A. Shark-chan Raising Diary, is a one-shot where the male lead happens to be taking care of a shark girl instead of a regular shark the whole time.

It is a sweet little slice-of-life manga that follows the male lead and the shark girl, who is born without prior knowledge or understanding of the human world around her, she starts as an endearingly illogical and innocent character.

She gradually learns about the intricacies of societal expectations and etiquette, often in humorous and heartwarming ways since it's embarrassing if it happens in real life. It offers a lighthearted story blending comedy and slice-of-life storytelling.

This one-shot is the first work by this author, and so happens to also be the artist of this one-shot. It contains stunning visuals in this little one-shot, especially with the character designs regarding the post-time skip, and overall, the art style is pretty consistent.

The translations done by the English translator also did this one-shot justice, with the mixture of specific vocabularies and simpler ones, it's a great read.

It's a one-shot, there isn't much the translators can mess up on. Overall, the usage of the vocabulary used is simple to understand, so there is no problem.

Story: 6/10

Interesting premise with great promise, unfortunately, it's a one-shot, so storytelling-wise, it's pretty limited, and overall, it's a simple story that feels more like a volume 0(Prequel) for a bigger story.

Character: 5/10

Similar to the story, there isn't much depth to the characters, it's a one-shot after all, and barely anything about the characters is known.

Art: 9/10

Adorable art style for the young version of the character, and stunning character design post-time skip too. Overall, looking forward to the other works from this artist.

Overall: 7/10

It's a must-read for any monster girl slice-of-life suckers, and overall, it's a cute little one-shot that doesn't take too much time to finish.
