Description
By the end of the 1980s Nae wants to become a journalist more than anything and to leave Japan for the country where everything is possible, the United States. Until she is able to fulfill this dream, Nae shares her passion for American culture with her friends. Where will the road to America, so near yet so far, lead them, halfway between dream and disappointment?

Thought this was going to be an inspirational story about reaching your dreams but the story is so muddled with sleaze.
Out of our female cast. Our MC Nae has been the lover of a married teacher since she was a student of his. Of course she cant help loving him no matter how selfish he acts. Her main motivation to go USA is to be able to stand on equal footing with him.
Mariko is used as a whore by her own mother but does not leave home because she scared of being alone.
Takako is incapable of having a relationship with men after she was raped overseas.
This sleaze factor combined with the fact that our MC Nae is your typical shoujo heroine who is blindly obsessed with a self centered and conniving jerk has made this quite a pointless manga so far.
Also at only 1 volume, characterization has been quite rushed.
