Don't be fooled by anything stating this is a rom-com. It's not.
The synopsis isn't kidding about "friendship comedy".
Anybody thinking otherwise is just setting themselves up for disappointment.

I liked this manga best when it was just the two of them. The conflict was simple, but not easy: with her "saintly" patience and wisdom she would help him grow as a better adjusted person, able to function normally in society. Character growth was the solution. This initial setup was even conducive to a potential fluffy slow romance blooming together with his development.

Then it turned into a "harem". Any chance for a slow romance progression died when the "harem" formed and the resulting repetitive attempts to make comedy with it only served to hinder his growth as a character.

Was relatively entertaining at the start, but unfortunately it really starts to flanderize it's own characters and didn't improve any, and only got worse. By the later half of the series (it's not quite fully translated as of this review, but it is completed) teh characters are reduced to their pure stereotypes. Entire chapters are literally nothing but 'the MC is pathetic, the Saint offers him words of patience, and praises him for being pathetic, as it's a sign of him improving (😕?)'.

It'd be one thing if he TRIED to improve out of his state of being pathetic, but nope, he hasn't grown at all, and yet him somehow still being alive and breathing is apparently a result of him still trying.

Sigh. I did enjoy the start, and it was a little fluffy/healing/etc, but now it's just lame. We'll see if the last few chapters fix it, but the MC has had seriously no progress, and recent chapters are literal SoL with him backsliding to being wholly incompetent.
