Description

If you're looking for fluff, look elsewhere. I like stories about stupid teenagers because basically everyone is an idiot at that age, since it's still really hard to predict the consequences of your actions.

Kounosu has his own shit going on and doesn't have the emotional capacity or maturity to empathise with Imai or to realise what impact his actions might have on him. Imai is caught up in a whole new "adventure" at a very vulnerable time in his life and doesn't have the experience to deal with this ambiguous relationship or put up boundaries where necessary. No wonder they end up hurt. To me that feels like a pretty realistic first brush with love and sex - gay or not.

It was nice to see them after some time apart and how they had grown (up), even if they were still hung up on the past. I also liked how Imai admitted to both of them having some responsibility for what happend back in high school (sure you'd wish Kounosu had been more considerate, but I never thought of him as "the bad guy", and neither could I blame Imai for having (unrealistic) expectations).

Some of the dialogue felt a little unnatural and would have been better as an inner monologue. But all in all I thought this was interesting, and I felt good about them getting together in the end.

I have no idea whether to put this in my normal BL or Clickbait Yaoi list. I find myself struggling to remember anything significant or unique of what I just read. "This starts a tender relationship that takes place over time, pulling at your heart strings" is a bit of an exaggeration.

It's like the celery of BL. Zero calories, but it is food
