After the prequel, Rokugatsu no Hengen-san, left much to be desired in the way of interactions between Haru and Natsu, this one rectifies that...by keeping them away from each other some more. Sprinkle in a tired "I'm pulling away from you because I want you to focus on your goals, which will torpedo your ability to focus" subplot, and there you have roughly half of what's been scanlated so far.
The two leads still have zero chemistry. Haru continues to be so detached from everything that I wonder why he doesn't want to talk to Natsu about their situation, considering how little he seems to care about the answer, whatever it may be. Natsu, meanwhile, is mostly an angsty presence in the background. Even when something happens to push things forward, it's still "one step forward, two steps back" because of the aforementioned lack of chemistry. Natsu is too interested in Haru, while Haru seems as interested in Natsu as in an ad on the street.
There are also some attempts at giving Haru more depth through a backstory about him being unsure of what he wants to do in the future, but it falls flat because...I just had no interest in him as a character. And even if Haru and Natsu do end up together in the 2-3 remaining chapters, that still doesn't make up for their lack of chemistry and interactions. Too little, too late.
What a weird and pointless series.
