I remember reading this about 10 years ago and absolutely loving it, in fact I could still recall some scenes in the manga, and bits and pieces of the story. Re-reading it today and unsurprisingly, that emotions I felt back then didn't really resurface. I guess it's because I've read too many BLs since then?
Overall, the premise was so good and relatable. There was a lot of potential but it was just too short and underdeveloped. I really empathise with the struggles Ryuu-chan faced, and I felt a lot for him. I also am weak for Tsushima, he's just such a lovable oaf. I honestly didn't care too much for the second couple though.
Art is inconsistent but generally pretty (it's Kairi-sensei we're talking about, so to be expected).
Only skimmed Ch 5 and it's pretty disturbing and problematic, so wouldn't recommend. Ch 6 was cute but part of a larger story so you might not really understand what's going on.

The 1st chapter was really promising. It unfolded well, at the right pace. I found it really well developed when it came to 'Ryu-chan' loneliness and how he felt saved by meeting Tatsushima again. But the second chapter shattered all my expectations away. It was plainly "alright".
And the attempt at psychological genre in the oneshot with the doctor was really awful. I don't see any thing realistic about it. It tried to develop the characters but it failed miserably because it was too short, too much was left unsaid.
Globally, I liked the 1st story... And that's it.
I always end up disappointed with this mangaka. The art is promising, keeps you expecting... But the story doesn't keep up. To me, it ends up confusing.

I especially love the punk-chic kid and the guy who falls for him! I love all the boys in this story, and I think it's one of the sweetest things I've read! I love the characters and the art (it's gorgeous!). I only wish there were more of the main guys...
The side stories I don't remember and didn't care for. None of them. Just the main story and the connected one.
If I could give this more than a 10 for the main stories, I would!

This was a good read, but sometimes i felt like skipping though the dialog. The art was great, the nasty scenes were hot but to short imo, and the stories were good too. I will give this a 7 cuz i liked it
still promising, still not there

i really like these characters and want to know a lot more about them -- shimotsuki is very good at coming up with interesting people. and her art is wonderful. now if she'd only figure out how to develop those characters. that's where she always falls short. it's the perfect set-up for writing fan fiction, but for just reading it's just not quite there. i am rating it relatively high because of the art, and because i rather have interesting characters about whom i can think to flesh them out than the cardboard cutouts so much of BL offers.
Could have been good - but far from it

When I read the plot summary, I thought "Hmm.. sounds like it could be good." But nope. There's no character development. The story went too fast. No real emotional build up. It was flat. Boring. And pointless. I got nothing out of reading this manga.

In terms of the main couple, the story is really lacking in terms of character development and reality. It's like the bare-bones BL story where we get jot notes of their relationship without any "meat" parts that give a story substance. I felt as emotionally moved as if reading a car manual.
The unrelated one-shots were semi-decent though.

I cried. On pages 32-35 I cried :')
This story is moving and painful, the boys are all very expressive and it warms your heart.
Their lives will touch you, and the way they finally come together will make you go "WOOT!"
I'd like to see more smex but that's just the instatiable me
