Is everyone a hidden prince or princess of an ancient kingdom/dynasty?!??
The world building is very bad. What I've painstakingly gathered is that the "immortals" are their own human race and are "immortal" because they're born that way. They lived in their own dimensions until something happened and their world opened to ours. They think they're superior to us so they oppress us.
Then there's the humans who became immortal. That's what MC is turning out to be...I think. They're always 2nd class citizens despite some of them being mode powerful than the natural immortals.
Even if you're an expert on Korean mythology and history the story itself is disjointed af. Things happen with characters introduced with barely any explanation.
The MC has no loyalty. Understandable when everyone is just out to use him OR beat his ass but there's one warrior who stood by him, asking for one thing in return. Once MC realizes he could use that one thing he decides not to give it to the upright, honorable dude.
The story kind of meanders. It doesn't know what it wants to tell.
There are plot lines that are not explored like MC's mysterious daddy who went out for milk and hasn't returned for decades. Suddenly he's sending gifts to MC?!??? And equally suddenly, despite the cold rage MC exhibited, MC goes on his merry way. Not questioning anything about this weird circumstances and not looking for Daddy Dearest for some payback.
That's it. MC has zero interest in finding out what really happened. He just assumes Daddy Dearest left his family to start another family in an immortal sect. No concrete proof.
He does enjoy using the gift greatly though. He seems to have zero thoughts that it might be a trojan horse or something, nope.
It doesn't get better either.
I'm going to give it until ch 70. I'm not optimistic.
Also, why are the male side characters, MC's servants, so damn pretty? If this was about them I'd forgive aaaaall the annoying parts.
Ch 46. Ew. Agreeing to marry one person after another. Cheating bastard. The goblin he promised to marry does NOT know about the 2nd woman he promised to marry. Gross.
