Nishikori Kon failed his college entrance exam and decided to leave Kyoto with his pet cat. He travelled all the way to Mount Hakodate in Hokkaido and found himself in a difficult situation. Luckily, he was picked up by a young man named Tachikawa Ayakane who offered him a job at his and his brothers' coffee shop, called "Coffee & Cat." Even though one of the brothers doesn't like the word 'café', they all work together to keep the place running.

Ayakane was impressed with Kon's cat and offered him the job of getting the five unkempt cats of the establishment in order. Kon accepted the job and now takes care of all the cats. However, he has a secret that he hasn't told the brothers yet. Kon can actually see cats as human beings and understand their speech! This new lifestyle of Kon and his pet cat is just beginning.
